Industry increases aid to Canarian industrial areas by 167,839 euros

The General Directorate of Industry of the Government of the Canary Islands has increased by 167,839.19 euros the credit for the call for grants aimed at the regeneration and revitalization of existing industrial areas in the archipelago during 2026. The decision, adopted by resolution on September 15, 2026, raises the total allocation of the call to 732,839.19 euros. The summary is published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) no. 194, of September 28, 2026, section V (Other announcements), page 35468, with document number 3351.

The increase applies to the call approved by Resolution No. 204/2026, of March 11, of the General Directorate of Industry, under the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Trade and Self-Employed. The publication is based on articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, and article 14.4 of Decree 36/2009, of March 31, which establishes the general grant regime of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.

The call is registered in the National Grants Database with the identification 892846, where its full text can be consulted. The expenditure is charged to the budgetary application 15.03.433D.780.02 and the investment project 237G0361 “Promotion of industrial areas”.

No new application period

The second section of the summary specifies that the publication is carried out in compliance with article 14.4 of Decree 36/2009, of March 31, and that it does not imply the opening of a period for submitting new applications nor the start of a new countdown for the resolution period. In other words, the credit increase expands the granting capacity of the call already underway, but does not reopen the channel for submitting requests.

A line with a track record in the grant plan

The action is part of the “Promotion of industrial areas” line (code 1503 2) of the Department’s Strategic Grant Plan for the 2024-2026 period, managed by the Industrial and Artisanal Promotion Service, according to the sixteenth amendment of that plan approved by the Order of August 3, 2026 (BOC no. 164, of August 17, 2026, p. 31942). Its stated objective is to facilitate the regeneration and availability of industrial areas and to encourage the establishment of industries in conditioned spaces.

The plan provided for 1,281,070.89 euros for this line over the three-year period—299,933.90 euros in 2024, 416,136.99 euros in 2025, and 565,000.00 euros in 2026—with a management indicator of ten subsidized projects per year. The credit now confirmed for 2026 exceeds that annual forecast.

The expansion provides financial leeway for the industrial estates and promoters of the archipelago applying to this line, within a context of renovation of infrastructure and industrial land. Since the application period is not being reopened, the immediate effect is concentrated on the files already submitted and on the resolution capacity of the General Directorate of Industry during the fiscal year.
