INAGA formulates the environmental statement for the 24 MW Fermio wind farm
Por FactBox Admin

The Aragonese Institute of Environmental Management (INAGA) has formulated the environmental impact statement for the Fermio wind farm, 24 MW, promoted by Next Generation Energy Fermio, SLU in the municipal districts of Cariñena, Longares, and Alfamén (Zaragoza). The resolution is dated October 16, 2026, and is made known through an announcement published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 213, of November 4, 2026, with the reference BOA20261104035 and the file number INAGA 500306/01L/2025/10552.
The announcement is issued under article 33.4 of Law 11/2014, of December 4, on Environmental Prevention and Protection of Aragon, which mandates the publication of resolutions of this nature in the regional official gazette. The resolving body is INAGA, an entity dependent on the Department of Environment and Tourism of the Government of Aragon, and the procedure has been processed under file number 500306/01/2025/10552.
File data
The basic data of the procedure, as they appear in the official text, are as follows:
- File number: INAGA 500306/01L/2025/10552 (in the announcement details, 500306/01/2025/10552).
- Holder: Next Generation Energy Fermio, SLU.
- Affected municipalities: Cariñena, Longares, and Alfamén, all three in the province of Zaragoza.
- Object: environmental impact statement for the Fermio wind farm project, with a capacity of 24 MW.
- Competent body: Aragonese Institute of Environmental Management, attached to the Department of Environment and Tourism.
The announcement in the BOA does not reproduce the sense or the detail of the environmental conditions: it is limited to ordering the publication of the resolution and referring to the full text, available at the official INAGA link (aplicaciones.aragon.es/inachkdoc) with the Secure Verification Code CSVFG13V1S7TWBSUZREG. The document appears signed in Zaragoza on October 22, 2026, by Diana Remón Galindo, Head of Technical Area III of Industrial Environment.
A project across three municipal districts
The projected installation extends across the territory of three Zaragoza municipalities, a common configuration in the community’s wind farms, where the coupling area for wind turbines, access roads, and evacuation trenches is usually distributed among several districts. The statement therefore affects three different city councils, which are the competent local administrations regarding construction and activity licenses on the involved lands.
The recognized capacity in the announcement is 24 MW, a magnitude lower than that of other wind projects processed by the same institute during the same dates, which places Fermio within the medium-sized facility range among the wind power files that INAGA resolves in the province of Zaragoza.
More environmental resolutions in the same bulletin
The publication of Fermio coincides in issue number 213 of the Official Gazette of Aragon with another environmental impact statement from the same department: that of the Elin wind farm, 30.5 MW, promoted by Energía Inagotable de Elin, SL in Plenas, Moyuela, and Azuara (Zaragoza), processed under file number INAGA 500306/01L/2025/10056 and resolved on April 27, 2026 (reference BOA20261104036, CSV CSVLZ8JXWW7VTBUYIREG).
Both resolutions share the same publication scheme: an INAGA announcement in section V of the bulletin, under the other announcements section, featuring the headline, the affected municipalities, the description of the procedure, and the secure verification code to access the full document.
Why it matters
The environmental impact statement is the pronouncement that the promoter needs to move forward toward administrative authorization and the construction of the park. For the residents and local entities of Cariñena, Longares, and Alfamén, the publication in the BOA is the moment when the file becomes accessible public information: the conditions set out in the resolution of October 16, 2026, will determine how the project is executed regarding birds, noise, landscape, heritage, and land restoration.
