Igüeña somete a información pública su censo de amianto durante treinta días

The Igüeña City Council has provisionally approved the Census of facilities and sites containing asbestos within the municipality and is submitting it for public review for a period of 30 days. The agreement was adopted by the Plenary of the Corporation in a session held on September 15, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of León, number 179, dated September 18, 2026, under reference BOP-LE-2026-179005. Interested parties have this period to examine the document and submit any allegations they deem appropriate.

The announcement is inserted for the purposes provided for in Article 45 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, and reproduces the full plenary agreement. The approved census is contained in the document prepared and incorporated into the municipal administrative file, and its content is expressly declared public. The Igüeña City Council, in the province of León, is located at Paseo del Catoute, 5, 24312.

Provisional approval and monitoring calendar

The first point of the agreement provisionally approves the census of facilities and sites containing asbestos within the municipal district. The second point approves the schedule of actions and monitoring incorporated into the aforementioned document, without prejudice to subsequent updates that may be necessary as a result of new inspections, communications from private individuals, or the removal of inventoried materials.

The third point declares the public nature of the approved census. The fifth point empowers the Mayor’s Office to carry out whatever acts are necessary for the execution and development of the agreement, as well as for the updating of the census when appropriate.

Thirty days of public exhibition

The fourth point orders the census to be exhibited to the public through the insertion of an announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of León and on the City Council’s electronic notice board for a period of 30 days. During this period, interested parties may:

  • Examine the census document and the administrative file.
  • Submit any allegations and claims they deem appropriate.

If no allegations or claims are made by the end of the exhibition period, the agreement shall become final. Otherwise, the allegations and claims will be resolved by the Plenary of the Corporation.

Referral to health, environmental, and labor authorities

Once definitively approved, the City Council will send a copy of the census and this agreement to the competent authorities of the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León regarding health, environmental, and labor matters. The referral is made for the purposes provided for in the fourteenth additional provision of Law 7/2022, of April 8, on waste and contaminated soils for a circular economy.

The announcement was signed in Igüeña on September 17, 2026, by the mayor, Antonio Alider Presa Iglesias.

The opening of the public information period provides owners and neighbors with the opportunity to review and discuss the inventory of asbestos sites before it is finalized. The census identifies the facilities and materials containing this mineral, the handling and removal of which require safety conditions due to health risks, and its final approval will trigger the mandatory notification to the health, environmental, and labor administrations of Castilla y León.
