Ibio auctions the timber of two public forests for 39,135.50 euros

The Ibio Neighborhood Council, in the municipality of Mazcuerras, has arranged for the disposal via public auction of the timber forest resources of two Public Utility Forests for the 2026 fiscal year. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria number 186, dated September 28, 2026, with reference CVE-2026-7436, and sets a combined base price of 39,135.50 euros, VAT not included, divided between the lots of La Robleda and Gustio y Cezura. The auction is processed urgently, and bids may be submitted during the eight calendar days following the publication.

The announcement, signed in Riaño de Ibio on September 21, 2026, by the local mayor José Ignacio Bretones Sánchez, is part of the Annual Resource Utilization Plan for Public Utility Forests for the year 2026 and appears in section 3, Administrative Contracting, of the gazette (pages 47428 to 47430). The case files are AF-UOV/2026/18 and AF-UOV/2026/20.

The specifications governing the tender are the Particular Administrative Conditions Specifications approved by the Ibio Neighborhood Council and the Particular Technical-Faculty Conditions Specifications prepared by the Forestry Service of the Government of Cantabria, with references AF-UOM/2026/18/1 and AF-UOM/2026/20/1. Claims against the specifications may be filed within five business days following the publication of the announcement.

The two lots and their base prices

• Lot 1 (AF-UOM/2026/18/1), Public Utility Forest No. 18 La Robleda: 4,239 white eucalyptus trees (Eucalyptus globulus), 1,351.50 cubic meters of wood, and a base price of 33,787.50 euros (VAT not included).
• Lot 2 (AF-UOM/2026/20/1), Public Utility Forest No. 20 Gustio y Cezura: 441 white eucalyptus trees, 213.92 cubic meters, and a base price of 5,348.00 euros (VAT not included).

In both cases, the type of cutting consists of the felling of all existing eucalyptus trees in the plot subject to utilization, in accordance with the technical specifications. The base bidding price may be improved upwards, and the settlement is carried out at the risk and venture of the successful bidder.

Deadlines, guarantees, and submission of bids

The procedure is open and the method of award is by auction, with urgent processing. No provisional guarantee is required, while the definitive guarantee is set at ten percent of the award price of the awarded lot or lots.

• Submission deadline: eight calendar days from the day following the publication of the announcement.
• Location: premises of the Junta Vecinal de Ibio, Barrio Riaño de Ibio n.º 62, 39509, Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:00 hours, or by certified mail.
• Each bidder may submit a single proposal per lot and may compete for one or both.
• Opening of envelope A (administrative documentation): first business day following the closing of the deadline, in a non-public session.
• Opening of envelope B (economic proposal): at 19:00 hours on the first business Friday following the closing of the deadline.

Execution, incidents and contacts

The execution period for each lot is ten months from the date of the final award. Damage caused to local roads, highways, and public ways due to the extraction and removal of timber shall be the responsibility of the awardee, who must repair them, and the cost of publishing the announcement in the Boletín Oficial de Cantabria shall also be borne by the awardee. If any lot remains vacant, a second auction will be held five calendar days after the opening of the economic proposals.

The auction involves 1,565.42 cubic meters of white eucalyptus in two public utility forests in Mazcuerras and gives forestry companies a window of barely eight days to bid for timber with a base price exceeding 39,000 euros. For the residents of Ibio, the result affects both the income of the neighborhood council and the condition of the rural roads through which the timber will be removed.
