Por FactBox Admin

The Industrial, Energy, and Mining Planning Service, under the General Directorate of Industry, Energy, and Mines of the Regional Ministry of Industry, Energy, Science, and Territory, has granted prior administrative authorization to i-DE Redes Eléctricas Inteligentes, SAU to underground sections of the 20 kV medium voltage output lines from the ST 3026-“Trujillo” substation, in the municipality of Trujillo (Cáceres). The decision is contained in the resolution of October 8, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) No. 205, Friday, October 23, 2026, with official reference 2026062627 and file number AT-9728.
The project and its processing
The application was submitted by the distribution company on December 12, 2025, with a favorable result in the verification of the attached documentation. The project was subject to public consultation for the legally established period, with publication in the DOE on April 21, 2026, and was forwarded to other public administrations and public service or general interest companies to express their agreement or opposition and to establish technical conditions.
During the public consultation process, no objections were filed, and the company expressed its acceptance of the conditions contained in the pronouncements and reports issued by the affected administrations and entities. The file is also not subject to any environmental assessment procedure, as stated in the resolution itself.
The invoked regulatory framework is Law 24/2013, of December 26, on the Electricity Sector, Title VII, Chapter II, of Royal Decree 1955/2000, of December 1, and Decree 221/2012, of November 9, on the determination of the means of publishing announcements and the competent bodies in the energy and hydrocarbon sectors. The regional competence derives from Article 9.1.37 of the Statute of Autonomy of Extremadura, as worded in Organic Law 1/2011, of January 28.
Technical characteristics of the action
The authorization covers the following installations, according to the essential data of the resolution:
- Installation of five new single-circuit medium voltage underground lines (LSMT), with HEPRZ1 12/20 kV 3x(1x240) mm² type conductor, service voltage of 20 kV, and a total length of 0.661 kilometers.
- Installation of the L-“Madroñera” medium voltage overhead line, with 100-AL1/17-ST1A aluminum-steel conductor, 0.12 kilometers in length, and bird guards.
- Installation of two new C-4500/16 type supports with RC3-20T crossarms, long-rod composite insulator (U70YB30 AL), conductor cladding, clamps, insulators, and hardware, as well as a “roof-type” nesting deterrent element.
- Dismantling of 823 linear meters of medium voltage overhead line, 95 linear meters of underground line, and six supports (four lattice and two concrete).
The site comprises municipal land located in polygon 36, plot 55, Campo San Juan area, as well as land owned by the ST “Trujillo” substation, property of i-DE Redes Eléctricas Inteligentes, SAU, with registered office at Periodista Sánchez Asensio, 1, Cáceres.
Conditions and appeal process
The authorization obliges the company to comply at all times with Law 24/2013 and its implementing provisions, and is issued without prejudice to the authorizations, licenses, concessions, or permits of municipal competence or other bodies necessary to execute the works. The company must adhere to the submitted project, such that any modification will require prior authorization, and shall take into account the conditions set by the affected administrations and entities.
Failure to comply with these conditions, the inaccurate declaration of the supplied data, or any other cause that undermines the purpose of the resolution may lead to its revocation, following the instruction of the corresponding procedure. Against the resolution, which does not end the administrative route, an administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed before the Directorate General of Industry, Energy and Mines within a period not exceeding one month, in accordance with Law 39/2015, of October 1. The document was signed in Mérida on October 8, 2026, by the head of the service, Juan Francisco Lemus Prieto.
The action involves the compaction of the distribution network in the surroundings of the Trujillo substation, replacing overhead routes with underground conduits and removing existing infrastructure. For the residents and for the works in the municipality, the change reduces the line’s exposure to weather incidents and interference with trees and birdlife, although the execution of the conduits will require coordination with the Trujillo City Council for the municipal licenses and permits that the resolution itself expressly reserves.
