Madrid hospitals call medical heads to meeting over provisional appointments

The Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM no. 209, of September 2, 2026) publishes in its Authorities and Personnel section several resolutions from the management directorates of public hospitals of the Madrid Health Service (SERMAS) promoting the filling of head of service and head of section positions through provisional appointment. The processes affect centers such as the “Gregorio Marañón” General University Hospital, the Getafe University Hospital, and the “Infanta Sofía” University Hospital, and are added to similar calls from the “Ramón y Cajal” University Hospital and the “Infanta Leonor” University Hospital published in the same issue.

The resolutions are issued within the framework of the Regional Ministry of Health and the competencies delegated by the General Directorate of Human Resources and Labor Relations of SERMAS (Resolution of June 12, 2018). The processes are handled in accordance with the regulations for the provision of medical leadership in health centers, including the publication of lists of admitted candidates, the designation of selection committees and, where applicable, the awarding of the position.

Lists of admitted candidates at Gregorio Marañón

The Resolution of August 13, 2026, from the Management Directorate of the “Gregorio Marañón” General University Hospital publishes the final list of admitted and excluded candidates for the filling of a position as Head of the Pediatric Surgery Section, called by Resolution of March 30, 2026 (BOCM of May 5, 2026). There are no candidates excluded for failure to meet requirements.

• Admitted candidate: María Antonia García-Casillas Sánchez (DNI *1907).
• The Selection Committee is made public, chaired by Marta Sánchez-Celaya del Pozo, Deputy Director-Manager, with members designated by the Medical Directorate, the Technical-Assistance Board, and the National Commission for the Specialty of Pediatric Surgery.

Provisional list at Getafe Hospital

The Resolution of August 12, 2026, from the Management Directorate of the Getafe University Hospital publishes the provisional list of admitted and excluded candidates for a position as Head of the Psychiatry Service, called by Resolution of May 29, 2026 (BOCM of June 16, 2026). There are also no excluded candidates in this phase.

• Admitted candidate: Esther Chapela Herrero (DNI *3229).
• Excluded candidates, if any, will have a period of ten business days to correct defects, after which the final list will be issued.

Awarding at Infanta Sofía

The Resolution of August 6, 2026, from the Management of the “Infanta Sofía” University Hospital resolves the call of December 23, 2025 (BOCM of January 15, 2026) for a position as Emergency Department Coordinator. Following the reasoned proposal of the Selection Committee, Verónica Bueno Palomino (NIF *2142) is designated as the awardee, who is appointed on a provisional basis and will receive the remuneration for the position from the date of taking office.

These resolutions are part of the renewal of the healthcare management teams of the Madrid public network, a process that directly affects the organization of services and the physicians applying for these positions.
