The Hornachuelos City Council has approved the rules governing the open competitive examination to fill one Local Police position as a career civil servant. The call was formalized through Mayoral Resolution number 2026/00001668, dated September 14, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba number 181, dated September 18, 2026, with the official reference BOP-A-2026-3127 (file Gex 2026/9993). The announcement is signed by the mayor-president, Julián López Vázquez.

It originates from the 2025 Public Employment Offer and, according to the rules, may be increased by vacancies that occur during the process, an accumulation that must be agreed upon before the start of the final mandatory and eliminatory exercise.
Requirements and submission of applications
Applicants must meet the required criteria before the end of the final day for submitting applications:
- Spanish nationality and be eighteen years of age without having reached the compulsory retirement age.
- Minimum height of 1.65 meters for men and 1.60 meters for women, with an exemption for those who are already career civil servants of any Local Police Corps of Andalusia.
- High School Diploma (Bachiller), Technical degree or equivalent, and driving licenses of classes A2 and B.
- Commitment to carry weapons and drive police vehicles.
- Not to have been dismissed from service by a final resolution nor be disqualified from public service, and to have no criminal record for intentional crimes.
The submission period is twenty business days from the day following the publication of the summary of the call in the Official State Gazette. The application is processed electronically through the municipal electronic office, with identification via Cl@ve, and requires the payment of an examination fee of 181.5 euros. Those who prove unemployment for more than one month, a disability equal to or greater than 33%, large family status, or status as a victim of terrorism or gender-based violence are exempt.
Four eliminatory tests and induction course
The selection process is structured into an examination phase with four tests and a second phase consisting of an induction course:
- Physical fitness, with eliminatory exercises detailed in Annex I and a rating of fit or unfit.
- Knowledge, with a test of 100 questions plus 10 reserve questions in 120 minutes and a practical case of 105 minutes, based on the syllabus of 40 topics in Annex III.
- Psychotechnical test, with an assessment of aptitudes, personality, and a personal interview.
- Medical examination, subject to the table of exclusions in Annex II.
The second phase consists of passing the entry course at the Institute of Emergencies and Public Safety of Andalusia, contracted schools, or municipal Local Police schools. A minimum period of five business days and a maximum of forty-five must elapse between the conclusion of one exercise and the start of the next.
Tribunal, tenure, and appeals
The Qualifying Tribunal will be composed of a president, three members, and a secretary, all appointed by the Mayor’s Office, with an equal number of substitutes, and is classified in the second category for the purposes of compensation. The assumption of office as a career civil servant must take place in the month following the notification of the appointment, and the rules establish a tenure commitment of five years in accordance with article 43.5 of Law 6/2023.
An optional appeal for reversal may be filed against the rules within one month or, directly, a contentious-administrative appeal within two months before the corresponding Contentious-Administrative Court.
The call for applications opens a stable access route to the police force in a municipality in the Sierra de Córdoba and reinforces the municipal staff with a newly created position from the 2025 offer. For candidates, the calendar is contingent upon the publication of the summary in the Official State Gazette, which will activate the count of twenty business days to register.
