Hita provisionally approves the modification of the cemetery fee.

The City Council of Hita has provisionally approved the modification of the Fiscal Ordinance on the Fee for the Provision of Municipal Cemetery Services, which affects the fees paid by residents for funeral services. The agreement was adopted by the municipal Plenary at its session of July 30, 2026, and its announcement is published in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Guadalajara (BOP), number 154, of Thursday, August 13, 2026.

The proceedings are covered by article 17.2 of the Consolidated Text of the Law Regulating Local Finances, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which requires the file to be submitted to public information before the final approval of fiscal ordinances. The announcement, signed in Hita on August 8, 2026, by the mayor-president, Ignacio Ayuso Blas, includes the verification code 699270f20897b3f46cc4a94f8b1c5f0e6226d7dd, which allows its authenticity to be verified on the electronic site of the provincial bulletin.

Thirty days of public information

The file is subject to public information for thirty days, counted from the day following the insertion of the announcement in the official bulletin of the province, so the period opens on August 14. During that period, any interested party may examine the documentation and submit the claims they deem appropriate:

• In-person examination of the file at the municipal offices of the City Council of Hita.
• Online consultation through the municipal electronic site (http://hita.sedelectronica.es).
• Submission of allegations and claims throughout the entire public exhibition period.

Final approval

Local regulations establish that, if no claims have been submitted after the thirty-day period, the agreement will be considered finally approved without the need for a new ruling by the Plenary. In the event that allegations are made, the municipal body must resolve them before considering the text of the ordinance finally approved.

Once finally approved, the modification of the ordinance must be published in full in the official bulletin, at which time the new regulation of the fee for municipal cemetery services will enter into force and replace the current one.

The fee for the provision of municipal cemetery services taxes the services that the City Council provides to residents in connection with funeral services, so the reform now in progress may affect the amounts and the conditions of application of the ordinance. The public information period is the way for residents to learn the exact content of the modification and, where applicable, submit observations before the text is approved.

With this publication, the City Council of Hita fulfills the transparency and participation procedure required by local legislation to modify its fiscal ordinances. Interested residents have one month, starting August 14, to consult the file and submit any allegations they deem appropriate, a decisive period to influence the final text of a fee that affects households in the municipality.
