Por FactBox Admin

The Hita City Council has announced the celebration of a countryside bull run (encierro por el campo) on October 3, 2026, a bullfighting event that will take place across several areas of the municipal district. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara, number 168, dated September 2, 2026, and opens a period of ten calendar days for the owners of the affected properties to submit objections.
The announcement, signed in Hita on August 31, 2026, by the mayor-president, Ignacio Ayuso Blas, informs the owners of the estates through which the release of the bulls will pass that the failure to submit objections will be understood as express consent to the celebration of the event.
Itinerary of the bull run
The route is delimited into four perfectly distinct zones, all within the municipal district of Hita:
- Start and finish zone: the bull pens located at the Palenque de Hita.
- Release zone: the Plaza del Palenque and the areas of Calvario, Mora, Pilarejo, Rollo, Pradieles, Alto de los Arenales, La Muleta, Camino de Aledo, Santa Inés, and Alto de Santa Inés.
- Spectator zone: the permanent stone bleachers of the Palenque de Hita, duly signposted.
The announcement itself warns that any spectator who leaves the designated area will automatically acquire the status of a participant in the event.
Period for objections
The owners of the properties through which the release of the bulls will take place have ten calendar days, counting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province, to state whatever they consider most convenient for their interests.
The call directly affects residents and livestock farmers of the municipality, as well as bullfighting enthusiasts attending the event, and is part of the tradition of countryside bull runs characteristic of the Alcarria region.
