HCC temporarily waives membership fees for entrepreneurs affected by the fire in Omiš

The Assembly of the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) has temporarily abolished the obligation to pay membership fees for economic entities whose primary activity is carried out along the Lokva Rogoznica – Mimice – Omiš stretch, affected by the fire on August 13, 2026. The decision was made at the 13th electronic session on August 31, 2026, and published in Official Gazette (Narodne novine) No. 100/2026 (Decision 1208), and applies from August 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027.

The decision on the temporary abolition of the obligation to pay membership fees due to the fire in Split-Dalmatia County was made based on Article 21, point 1, and Article 22, paragraph 2, point 1 of the Law on the Croatian Chamber of Economy (“Official Gazette” No. 144/21) and Article 41 of the Statute of the Croatian Chamber of Economy (“Official Gazette” No. 67/2022 and 113/2023), in connection with the Conclusion of the Government of the Republic of Croatia dated August 20, 2026.

Area and Beneficiaries of the Measure

The measure applies to economic entities that are obliged to pay membership fees in accordance with the current Law on the Croatian Chamber of Economy, and who carry out their primary activity in the area along the Lokva Rogoznica – Mimice – Omiš stretch in the town of Omiš and surrounding settlements. The goal is to remediate the consequences of the fire of August 13, 2026, and to provide direct assistance to affected entrepreneurs.

The decision temporarily suspends, until the expiration of its validity period, the provisions of the current Decision on the Financing of the Croatian Chamber of Economy which prescribe the obligation, amount, and method of payment of membership fees for HGK members referred to in Articles 1 and 2 of this Decision. This temporarily removes the financial obligation to the chamber for affected entrepreneurs.

The decision was adopted by the Assembly of the Croatian Chamber of Economy at the 13th electronic session held on August 31, 2026, in Zagreb, and signed by the president dr. sc. Luka Burilović.
