Herning court advertises five-year debt-relief assistant posts at 2,055 kroner an hour
Por FactBox Admin

Retten i Herning has advertised a number of posts as permanent assistants in debt-relief cases (gældssaneringssager), to be filled for a five-year period from 1 January 2027 under section 219(1) of the Danish Bankruptcy Act. Applications must reach the court by 13 November 2026. The notice was published in Statstidende of 26 October 2026 under reference S26102026-83, in the appointments section.
The legal basis is konkurslovens § 219, which allows the skifteret to engage an assistant to carry out the business that a series of provisions in the Bankruptcy Act places on the court. The assistant works on the court’s behalf, under its supervision and subject to its instructions, and is expressly barred from safeguarding the interests of either the debtor or the creditors. The notice states that no age limit applies.
Selection rests on qualifications and local ties
Assessment of each application will follow the criteria in konkurslovens § 238 a and its preparatory works, with weight placed on the applicant’s professional qualifications and practical experience in the field. The court adds that attachment to the local area will also count, including a degree of geographic spread among those appointed. The appointment itself is personal, and the court notes that the work is essentially expected to be carried out by the person engaged as assistant.
Pay follows the defence-counsel rate
Remuneration is set out in the notice as a fee based on a fixed number of hours per case, at an hourly rate of 2,055 kroner plus VAT. The rate tracks the defence-counsel tariff (forsvarertaksten). Specifically:
- 13 hours at 2,055 kr. plus VAT for debt-relief cases with one applicant, equal to 26,715 kr. before VAT.
- 17 hours at 2,055 kr. plus VAT for debt-relief cases with two applicants, equal to 34,935 kr. before VAT.
How and where to apply
Applications must be sent to the court’s probate division and marked for the responsible member of staff:
- Deadline: 13 November 2026.
- Address: Retten i Herning, Skifteretten, Haraldsgade 28, 7400 Herning.
- Email: ret.her@domstol.dk, att. kontorfuldmægtig Erna Michaelsen.
- Place of service: Haraldsgade 18, 7400 Herning.
Local lawyers already carry the caseload
The court’s own debt-relief announcements show that local practitioners currently fill the helper role. Notices issued by Retten i Herning on 5 and 19 October 2026 direct creditors to file claims with advokat Anker Søndergaard, Golfvej 12, 7400 Herning, while a case opened on 19 August 2026 names advokat Jens Paulsen, Kaj Munks Vej 4, 7400 Herning. Each of those notices gives creditors eight weeks from publication to register their claims, after which the right to coverage lapses if the case closes with a debt-relief order.
The same issue of the gazette carries a parallel appointment in the courts: Retten i Svendborg advertises a vacant post as beneficeret advokat, with a ten-year term, requiring personal appearance in assigned cases and a duty to provide public legal aid, under reference S26102026-291. Applications there are due by 25 November 2026.
For insolvency practitioners in central Jutland, the Herning notice is a rare publicly tendered route into court-funded work with a fixed five-year horizon, and the explicit emphasis on geographic spread means lawyers outside the immediate town may still be considered. The deadline of 13 November 2026 leaves just over two weeks from publication for applications to be prepared and filed.
