Treasury increases orthoprosthetic prescription credit by 2.5 million

The Department of Economy, Finance and Public Administration has authorized a credit extension of 2,511,081.14 euros in the expenditure line for prosthesis prescriptions and vehicles for people with disabilities. The measure, signed on September 9, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) no. 10462, of September 30, 2026, with the reference DOGV-C-2026-28782. The reinforcement responds to the increase in healthcare demand recorded in July and August.

The resolution is issued under Article 48 of Law 1/2015, of February 6, on public finance, the instrumental public sector, and subsidies, and Article 25.1.j) of Law 4/2026, of July 22, on the Generalitat budgets for the 2026 financial year, which grants the status of expandable credits to those destined for the payment of pharmaceutical products, including orthoprostheses from medical prescriptions. The authority to resolve corresponds to the Undersecretariat by virtue of the Resolution of February 12, 2024 (DOGV 9792, of February 20), on the delegation of certain competencies. The processed file is 00.019/26.

The affected line is T0007, “Expenditure for prosthesis prescriptions and vehicles for people with disabilities,” included in Chapter IV of the budgetary subprogram 412B27, Complementary external benefits, of the Department of Health, where expenses derived from orthoprosthetic benefits are charged.

The origin: the July and August invoices

The Directorate General of Pharmacy, after analyzing the execution of the transfer line T0007, found that the available credit was not sufficient to cover the invoices for prescription orthoprosthetic benefits for the summer months, due to the growing healthcare demands of the population. The credit need is specified in two amounts:

• July 2026: 485,233.98 euros.
• August 2026: 2,025,847.16 euros.

The sum of both amounts, 2,511,081.14 euros, coincides exactly with the authorized amount, with the purpose of covering the cost of the prescription orthoprosthetic benefit corresponding to those two months.

From 25.9 to 28.5 million in allocation

The agreement authorizes the extension in the expenditure budget, in the budgetary application G01100202GE00000.G412B27.48609 T0007, and increases the allocation of the transfer line according to the following detail:

• Previous allocation: 25,974,930.00 euros.
• Authorized modification: 2,511,081.14 euros.
• Current allocation: 28,486,011.14 euros.

The increase is incorporated into the annex of transfers and subsidies of the budgetary subprogram 412B27, Complementary external benefits.

Who signs and where it is published

The resolution was signed in València on September 9, 2026, by Alida C. Mas Taberner, Undersecretary of Economy, Finance, and Public Administration. The text appears in section III, Administrative Acts, subsection C) Other matters, of DOGV no. 10462, dated September 30, 2026.

The extension guarantees the continuity of the payment of the prescription orthoprosthetic benefit to patients who depend on prostheses, orthoses, and adapted vehicles, and prevents the gap between actual demand and the initially planned credit from delaying the financing of a health expenditure of an expandable nature.
