Guitiriz raises the public price of dance classes to 12 euros

The Local Government Board of the Guitiriz City Council approved the modification of the public price for dance classes, which becomes 12 euros per month for 1.5 hours of class per week and 6 euros when the service provision is less than a month, that is, per fortnight. The agreement was adopted in the ordinary session of September 28, 2026, and is made public in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo number 230, Thursday, October 8, 2026, on page 4, with the reference R. 2673.

The announcement, signed by the mayor Marisol Morandeira Morandeira in Guitiriz on September 30, 2026, is published for general knowledge and publicity under articles 41, 47, and 127 of Legislative Royal Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries. The now-modified tariff had been approved by the Local Government Board on July 3, 2006, and published in BOP number 167, of July 21, 2006, so that the September agreement replaces that price fixing which had been in effect for two decades.

The new tariffs for dance classes

The agreement establishes two amounts based on the duration of the service provision:

• 12 euros per month for 1.5 hours of class per week.
• 6 euros for service provision shorter than a month, that is, per fortnight, also for 1.5 hours of class per week.

The modification directly affects the users of the municipal dance class service, who pay the public price in advance. The published text does not detail the number of places or the schedules, which are set annually by the City Council.

The municipal framework: gym and sports schools

The decision is part of a line of updating the public sports prices of the municipality. The Regulations for the Use and Operation of the Guitiriz Municipal Gym, approved definitively and published in BOP number 222, of September 25, 2026 (file 288/2026, reference R. 2554), regulates group activities, the calendar, and schedules, and reserves the possibility for the City Council to require extraordinary tariffs to attend some of the group classes that may be taught in the future.

Furthermore, the modification of the Ordinance regulating the public price for activities in sports schools, made final and published in BOP number 228, of October 6, 2026 (reference R. 2640), adds to the text the prorating of the public price by fortnights in the months in which the council does not provide the full service. This fortnightly fractionation criterion is the same as that now applied to dance classes.

For the residents of Guitiriz who use the service, the publication establishes a clear reference of how much it costs to dance in the municipality: 12 euros per month or 6 euros per fortnight for one and a half hours of class per week. The fee is now incorporated into the Council’s public price regime, meaning that any future change must be processed by agreement of the Local Government Board and published in the provincial bulletin.
