Guitiriz sets the public price of the municipal gym with differentiated rates

The Plenary of the Guitiriz City Council approved the establishment of the public price for the use of the municipal gym, with a daily pass of 2.5 euros for members and 3 euros for non-members. The agreement, adopted in the ordinary session of September 24, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo number 235, dated October 14, 2026, with reference R. 2713.

The agreement regulates the amount that users of the municipal sports facility must pay and is developed under articles 41, 47, and 127 of Legislative Royal Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries. The regulation establishes that those who benefit from the services provided by the City Council through the use of the municipal gym facilities are obliged to pay.

The fixing of the rates comes after the City Council completed the processing of the Regulation for the Use and Operation of the Municipal Gym of Guitiriz, initially approved in the plenary of July 30, 2026, and made final without objections, the full text of which was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo number 222, dated September 28, 2026 (R. 2554, file 288/2026). That regulation locates the gym in the SENPA warehouse, on Xermolos Street, and sets a maximum capacity of 30 people.

Approved rates

The agreement distinguishes between members and non-members in all access modalities:

• Daily pass: 2.5 euros for members and 3 euros for non-members.
• 10-use pass: 20 euros for members and 25 euros for non-members.
• Monthly fee: 25 euros for members and 30 euros for non-members.

The 10-use passes will be valid for one year. The fees are paid per use and per user of the service.

Payment and management

The obligation to pay arises from the moment the service provision is requested through the platform enabled by the City Council, that is, from the moment the use of the gym is reserved. Payment is made exclusively through that channel, during the facility’s opening hours and prior to accessing it.

The management and use rules refer to the Regulation for the use and operation of the municipal gym. The Guitiriz City Council is responsible for the organization, calendar, and schedule of the authorized activities, and the facilities will be open every day of the week.

Modification and entry into force

The competence to modify the amount is entrusted to the Local Government Board, in accordance with article 47.1 of Legislative Royal Decree 2/2004. The modification shall be made upon the proposal of the mayor’s office and must include, at a minimum, an economic-financial report justifying that the amount covers the cost of the service, the amount of the modified rate, and a reasoned justification of the social, charitable, cultural, or public interest reasons that, if applicable, advise setting prices below cost.

The agreement will enter into force and begin to be applied as of its publication in the Official Provincial Gazette and will remain in effect until its express repeal or modification. The announcement is signed by the mayor, Marisol Morandeira Morandeira, in Guitiriz on September 30, 2026.

The measure affects all users of the facility, who from now on are informed in writing of the amounts they must pay and the single payment channel, and completes the regulatory rollout of the municipal gym initiated with the usage regulations.
