Guitiriz creates a Geriatrics Assistant position and lowers the training requirements for Tractor Driver

The Guitiriz City Council has definitively approved the thirteenth modification of its Staffing Table (RPT), an operation that creates a new Geriatric Assistant position at the Day Center and lowers the required training for the municipal Laborer-Tractor Driver. The agreement was processed as file 994/2026 and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo no. 219, dated September 24, 2026, with reference R. 2520. The resolution bears the signature of the mayor, Marisol Morandeira Morandeira, and is dated September 18, 2026.

The modification was initially approved by plenary agreement on July 30, 2026, and was subject to public consultation via an announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo no. 186, dated August 17, 2026, with a period of twenty business days to submit suggestions or allegations. As no claims were registered, the initial approval was elevated to definitive in application of article 202 of Law 2/2015, of April 29, on public employment in Galicia. The project exclusively affects two files of the current RPT: number 31 and number 20 bis.

One more Geriatric Assistant position

The first of the changes modifies the personnel framework and file no. 31 of the RPT to create an additional position of “Geriatric Assistant of the Day Center”, identified with code 83, which will be filled by internal promotion. The need is justified in a report from the city council’s social worker dated July 3, 2026.

After the modification, the staffing table for permanent labor personnel is as follows:

• Designation: Geriatric Assistant DC.
• Number of positions: 5.
• Vacancies: 3.

Fewer requirements for the Laborer-Tractor Driver

The second change affects file no. 20 bis of the RPT, corresponding to the position of “Services Laborer-Tractor Driver” (code 25), whose specific training is reduced to a single requirement: a type C driver’s license. The file is configured in the following terms:

• Essential characteristics: permanent labor personnel of the municipal corporation.
• Group (equivalence): C2.
• Specific training: type C driver’s license.
• Number of positions: 1, currently vacant.
• Form of provision: open competition or competitive examination.
• Total annual remuneration: 23,518.93 euros (updated to 2023, without triennials).
• Assignment: Urban Planning, M.A. and Infrastructure Section, Environmental and Infrastructure Service.

Functions of the tractor driver position

The file also details the duties of the position, which include tasks as an operator-driver for the drinking water service and the supply network, as well as waste collection and street cleaning. The worker must also drive and operate municipal tractors or analogous vehicles, according to the needs of the service.

General functions include:

• Comply with the instructions and guidelines of the service manager.
• Substitute for other positions of similar categories during absences, leaves, or vacations.
• Assume other tasks assigned by the mayor’s office due to service needs, always appropriate to the category of the position.

Impact

The final approval closes the processing of the 13th modification of the RPT (Personnel Template) of Guitiriz and leaves the document ready for its application. For the residents, the most visible change is the reinforcement of the Day Center with a new Geriatric Assistant position, while the reduction of requirements for the Laborer-Tractor Driver position expands the range of people who can apply for its coverage.
