Guadalajara licita atracciones y puestos de alimentación para la Navidad

The Guadalajara City Council has opened the procedure to award the installation of attractions and food stalls for the 2026-2027 Christmas and Three Kings festivities, which will occupy the Parque de la Concordia and the Paseo de San Roque (pedestrian area). The guidelines are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 201, dated October 21, 2026, and bear the signature of the Mayor-President, Ana Guarinos López, dated October 19, 2026 (official reference: 2026_2757).

A Christmas park for 35 days

The authorization covers the period between December 4, 2026, and January 7, 2027—that is, slightly more than a month of fair activity in the city center. The purpose of the guidelines is to regulate the procedure and conditions for awarding authorizations for the occupation of public roads in these two municipal spaces.

The text also establishes the opening and operating hours:

  • From December 5 to 7 (Constitution Bridge) and Saturday, December 12: from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
  • Tuesday, December 8 and Sunday, December 13: from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
  • From December 9 to 10 and from December 14 to 17: from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
  • Friday, December 11: from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
  • From December 18, 2026, to January 5, 2027: Christmas fair schedule.

“Noise-Free Days” and accessibility in queues

The guidelines incorporate a specific accessibility regime. From Monday to Thursday, between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, fairground operators must turn off all sound equipment and installation lighting, an extraordinary measure intended to promote the integration of children with special needs, such as autism spectrum disorder.

Furthermore, during all fair days, priority in waiting queues will be given to those who prove a disability with the corresponding card, so that they do not have to wait longer than it takes for the attraction to complete one ride.

Municipal tax, no guarantee, and stall limits

The awardees must pay the tax provided for in the regulatory ordinance for the occupation of public roads with stalls, booths, sales kiosks, shows, or attractions. Payment is made via self-assessment 396 and the proof of payment is sent with form 1198; without both documents, the authorization is automatically revoked.

The City Council will not require a guarantee, relying on section 6 of article 92 of Law 33/2003, of November 3, on the Heritage of Public Administrations, as this is a short-term special use without relevant risks to the public domain. The installation conditions are restrictive:

  • Only specifically Christmas-themed installations, supervised by the Coordinator of the Protocol and Celebrations area, are permitted; fairs simply decorated with Christmas motifs do not count.
  • Only children’s and youth attractions, as the space does not accommodate large dimensions.
  • Gambling booths or bingos are not authorized.
  • There cannot be more than three stalls for the same activity; in the case of similar requests, priority is given to those who have set up more frequently in Guadalajara during the Christmas season.
  • The deadline for submitting applications ends on October 31, 2026.

The full terms and conditions are available to interested parties at the Department of Protocol and Celebrations of the Guadalajara City Council and on the municipal website.

Closing

The call for applications arrives just five days after the same bulletin published, on October 16, the terms for the Christmas Market for the same period, with between 15 and 30 booths and the same deadline of October 31. The calendar is tight for the vendors: anyone wishing to set up in the center of Guadalajara this Christmas has less than two weeks to submit their application and self-assess the fee.
