Guadalajara definitively approves credit modification 1/TC/47

Por FactBox Admin

The Guadalajara City Council has definitively approved credit modification 1/TC/47/2026 to the municipal budget for the 2026 fiscal year, as no objections were submitted during the public exhibition period. The agreement, adopted by the Corporation in Plenary, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 166, dated August 31, 2026.

The modification was initially approved by the Plenary in a session held on July 31, 2026, and submitted for public information via an announcement in BOP number 147, dated August 4, 2026, during the period between August 5 and August 25, 2026. Following the expiration of this period without any registered objections, the file has been definitively approved.

Reallocation of 1,500 euros between chapters

The operation, processed in accordance with article 177.2 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, reallocates a total of 1,500 euros between two budget chapters, without altering the overall amount of the budget. The summary by chapters is as follows:

  • Chapter 2 (Current expenditure on goods and services): decrease of €1,500.00.
  • Chapter 4 (Current transfers): increase of €1,500.00.

In this way, the credit is transferred from current expenditure on goods and services to current transfers, maintaining the budgetary balance for the fiscal year.

Appeal period

Against the definitive approval of credit modification 1/TC/47 to the 2026 budget, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed directly before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha, within a period of two months starting from the day following the publication of this announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province, pursuant to the provisions of article 171 of the aforementioned Recast Text.

The announcement, dated in Guadalajara on August 28, 2026, is signed by the mayor-president, Ana Cristina Guarinos López.

Relevance for residents

The definitive approval of this credit modification allows the City Council to adjust its 2026 budget to actual financing needs, strengthening current transfers through a reduction in current expenditure on goods and services. As this is an internal reallocation without an increase in total spending, the measure does not alter the tax burden on taxpayers, but it does redirect resources toward the items that the Council considers priority for the current fiscal year.
