Granollers opens grants of up to 200 euros to pay for primary housing
Por FactBox Admin

The Granollers City Council has opened the call for grants to cover the expenses of the primary residence addressed to homeowners in a situation of low economic capacity and vulnerability. The decision was made by the Local Governing Board on September 1, 2026, and the extract is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona (BOPB) on September 18, 2026, with the official reference CVE 202610140892 and identification number BDNS 929312.
The call is processed under a competitive bidding regime and is governed by the specific regulatory bases approved by agreement of the Local Governing Board on May 19, 2026, published in the BOPB with CVE 202610096541 on May 29, 2026. The full text can be consulted in the National Grants Database and on the municipal electronic office, as provided for in articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, general on grants.
Requirements to access the aid
Natural persons who are in a situation of low economic capacity and vulnerability may apply for the grant, with special attention to retired persons, pensioners, or the unemployed, and who are owners of their primary residence. The economic assessment is made according to the income table for the cohabiting unit established by the bases.
The requirements to be met are:
- To be the owner or usufructuary of the primary residence within the municipality of Granollers.
- To be registered (empadronat) in Granollers before January 1, 2026, both the applicant and the rest of the members of the cohabiting unit.
- To be up to date with tax obligations to the Granollers City Council, the General Social Security Treasury, the Tax Agency of Catalonia, and the State Agency of Public Administration at the time of the award.
Budget and amounts
The maximum amount to be allocated during 2026 is 30,000.00 euros, charged to budget line L4211/23110/48040 “AID FOR TAXPAYERS OF LOW ECONOMIC CAPACITY”. It will not be necessary to exhaust the entire budget credit if there are not enough applications.
- Maximum amount per application: 200 euros.
- Limit: the grant cannot exceed 50% of the annual net quota of the Property Tax (IBI) for urban properties of the residence for which it is requested.
- Reserve: 4% of the budget (1,200.00 euros) to address the result of the estimation of possible appeals against denials.
Deadline and submission of applications
The deadline begins the day after the publication of the extract in the BOPB and ends on October 16, 2026, inclusive. Applications must be submitted with the supporting documentation indicated in the fifth clause of the bases, through two channels:
- In person at the Citizen Service Office (OAC), at carrer Sant Josep, number 7, ground floor, during public office hours.
- Electronically through the electronic office of the Granollers City Council.
The extract was signed in Granollers on September 10, 2026, by Bàrbara Merino Liébana, senior technician of Legal Services, by delegation of signature of the mayoral resolution number E-10542/2024.
This call provides a direct route of financial support to families in Granollers who, despite being owners of their apartment, have difficulties maintaining it, a profile often excluded from other housing aids designed for renters. With a ceiling of 200 euros per application and a deadline of just over three weeks, the measure primarily reaches retirees, pensioners, and unemployed people who must face expenses linked to their primary residence.
