Gozón announces five administrative assistant positions via open competitive examination

The Gozón City Council has announced a competitive selection process via open competition to fill five administrative assistant positions as career civil servants, corresponding to the General Administration Scale, Auxiliary Subscale, group C, subgroup C2. The call and the specific rules were approved by Mayoral Resolution of August 28, 2026, and are published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) no. 175, of September 10, 2026, with reference Code 2026-07351 and file PER/2026/66.

The five positions are accumulated from the Public Employment Offers of the last four years, a common framework in municipalities that group pending vacancies to streamline selection processes. The procedure is governed by the general rules approved for the 2019-2023 OPE (BOPA no. 57, of March 23, 2023) and by public employment regulations, specifically the revised text of the Basic Statute of Public Employees (Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015).

Positions and requirements

The announced positions are distributed by public employment offer year:

• 1 position from the 2020 OPE (BOPA no. 248, of December 28, 2020).
• 1 position from the 2021 OPE (BOPA no. 146, of July 29, 2021).
• 2 positions from the 2022 OPE (BOPA no. 240, of December 16, 2022).
• 1 position from the 2023 OPE (BOPA no. 246, of December 27, 2023).

To participate, applicants must meet, among others, the following requirements:

• Hold Spanish nationality, without prejudice to the provisions of Article 57 of the Basic Statute of Public Employees.
• Be at least sixteen years of age and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age.
• Possess a Graduate degree in Compulsory Secondary Education, School Graduate, Elementary Baccalaureate, or equivalent.
• Not have been dismissed from the service of any Public Administration nor be disqualified from exercising public functions.

Deadline and submission of applications

The deadline for submitting applications will be 20 calendar days, starting from the day following the publication of the summary of the call in the Official State Gazette (BOE). Applications shall be addressed to the Mayor-President of the Gozón City Council and may be submitted at the General Registry of the council or at the locations provided for in Article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure.

The application must be accompanied by the standardized request form, a copy of the DNI or passport, and proof of payment of the participation fee, which amounts to 14.24 euros, in accordance with Fiscal Ordinance number 315. Applicants registered as job seekers who duly prove it are exempt.

Selection system and employment pool

The procedure will be a competitive examination, consisting of a single multiple-choice exercise divided into two eliminatory parts, valued at a maximum of 20 points (10 per part):

• First part: theoretical test of 50 questions, with 5 reserve questions, on the general syllabus; it is passed with a minimum of 5 points.
• Second part: theoretical-practical test of 50 questions, with at least 25% relating to the specific part of the syllabus; it is also passed with a minimum of 5 points.

Each part will have a maximum duration of 60 minutes. In the event of a tie, the higher score in the second part will be considered and, if the tie persists, it will be resolved by draw. Once the process is completed, an employment pool will be established to cover temporary administrative assistant needs, with calls made in order of precedence via telephone.
