Ginetarock obtains the title of Festival of Regional Tourist Interest

The General Directorate of Tourism, Commerce, and Handicrafts has granted the title of Festival of Regional Tourist Interest of Castilla-La Mancha to the music festival Ginetarock, which is held every year in La Gineta (Albacete). The decision was formalized by a resolution dated September 15, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha (DOCM) number 184, dated September 24, 2026, under the official reference 2026/6681.

The Agreement of the General Directorate

The resolution, issued by the General Directorate of Tourism, Commerce, and Handicrafts, under the Ministry of Economy, Business, and Employment, grants the declaration of Festival of Regional Tourist Interest of Castilla-La Mancha to the Ginetarock music festival of La Gineta (Albacete), “which is held every year in said town.” The text is based on the documentation included in the file processed for the festival’s declaration and resolves the request favorably.

The document was signed in Toledo on September 15, 2026, by the Director General of Tourism, Commerce, and Handicrafts, Aránzazu Pérez Gil.

Favorable Report and File Milestones

The file has the prior support of the peripheral Administration, a requirement that the resolution expressly invokes:

• Favorable report from the Provincial Delegate of the Ministry of Economy, Business, and Employment in Albacete, dated September 14, 2026.
• Documentation of the file for the declaration of the Ginetarock festival as a festival of regional tourist interest.

Regulatory Framework of the Declaration

The grant is supported by Decree 32/2006, of March 21, which regulates the declaration of Festival of Regional Tourist Interest of Castilla-La Mancha, a regulation that establishes the applicable requirements and procedure. The General Directorate’s competence to resolve derives from Decree 64/2025, of September 9, which establishes the organic structure and sets the competencies of the bodies integrated into the Ministry of Economy, Business, and Employment.

This declaration is added to others granted in the same weeks: on September 14, 2026, the DOCM published the resolution of August 25, 2026, by which the same title was granted to the 60s Party of Tarancón (Cuenca), with reference 2026/6516, processed under an identical regulatory framework.

Administrative Appeal and Effects

This resolution does not exhaust administrative remedies. An administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed before the head of the Regional Ministry of Economy, Business and Employment, in accordance with articles 121 and 122 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, within one month starting from the day following the notification.

The recognition places the Ginetarock festival in the regional catalog of festivals of tourist interest, a distinction that the regulations link to the promotion and dissemination of unique celebrations in the region. For La Gineta, a municipality in the province of Albacete, the title means incorporating its music festival into the tourism promotion instruments of Castilla-La Mancha and strengthening its projection beyond the local scope, with the consequent effect on the economic and hospitality activity of the municipality during the days of the celebration.
