Gestalba inicia la cobranza voluntaria del IAE 2026 en la provincia

Gestalba, the Autonomous Body for Provincial Tax Management of Albacete, has announced the opening of the voluntary collection period for the Tax on Economic Activities (IAE) corresponding to the 2026 fiscal year, as well as taxes, fees, public prices, and other public law charges from the city councils and irrigation communities of the province. The payment period extends from September 18 to November 20, 2026, both inclusive, according to the collection announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete number 107, dated September 14, 2026.

The call, signed by the President of the body, is based on Article 62.3 of the General Tax Law and Article 24 of the General Collection Regulations, approved by Royal Decree 939/2005, of July 29. Along with the IAE, the Water Environmental Canon of the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha and the municipal levies previously approved by the corresponding city councils and by the body itself are being collected.

Payment methods and direct debit

Taxpayers who have their receipts set up for direct debit will see the amounts charged to their accounts on October 13. Those who do not have direct debit will receive the payment document by ordinary mail at the address appearing on the receipt or through Gestalba’s electronic office, and may pay at any of the indicated banking entities.

  • If the document does not reach the party obligated to pay, a copy must be requested at the body’s offices, at www.gestalba.es, at the User Service Center (CAU) by calling 967 595 333, or at the municipal city council.
  • Non-receipt of the document does not exempt the party from the obligation to pay.
  • Legal entities and other obligated subjects must interact electronically with the administration, in accordance with Article 14.2 of Law 39/2015, of October 1.

Tax zones and schedules

Collection is organized into nine tax zones with their own offices. The general service hours are from 9:00 to 14:00, except in Zone 4 of Alcaraz, Zone 6 of Elche de la Sierra, and Zone 9 of Caudete, where hours will be from 9:00 to 10:30 and from 11:00 to 14:00.

Irrigation fees are also collected from communities such as Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación de San Pedro, Alcalá del Júcar, Jorquera-Recueja, Manantiales de Villatoya, El Jardín de Alcaraz, Nuestra Señora de Cortes, San Bartolomé de Bienservida, Virgen de la Paz Salobre-Reolid-Viano, Aliagosa de Nerpio, Belmontes de Nerpio, Gutar, Molata de Vizcable, and Nuestra Señora de la Cruz del Río Lezuza, among others.

Appeals and Surcharges

In case of disagreement, interested parties may file an appeal for reversal (recurso de reposición) before the organization within one month from the publication of the announcement, in accordance with Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5. Once the voluntary payment period has elapsed without payment, the debt will be demanded with an executive surcharge and, once the enforcement order has been notified, through the enforcement procedure with the corresponding surcharges, late payment interest, and costs, according to articles 26, 28, and 62.5 of the General Tax Law.

The campaign affects thousands of taxpayers and freelancers in the province; therefore, it is advisable to review bank direct debits and deadlines to avoid surcharges. The organization reminds taxpayers of the convenience of setting up direct debit payments with entities that have an office in the corresponding district, in accordance with article 38 of the General Collection Regulations.
