The Department of Social Policy and Equality publishes in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG no. 165, of September 1, 2026) the call for the Bono Concilia Familia program for the year 2026, with a budget of 2,663,867 euros. The grants, aimed at families with girls and boys born between January 1, 2013, and December 31, 2022, may be requested from September 9 to October 9.
The order, signed on August 18, 2026, by the regional minister Fabiola García Martínez, establishes the regulatory bases and the call for the program (procedure code BS412A), which is processed under a non-competitive concurrence regime. The program, launched in 2016 as Bono Coidado and renamed in 2023, finances reconciliation in specific situations and during school holiday periods, and is part of the Birth Support Program (PAN) of the Xunta de Galicia.
Who can apply for the grant
Beneficiaries may be parents, guardians, foster parents, or those with guardianship for adoption purposes of girls and boys born between 2013 and 2022 who reside in Galicia. In cases of illness or accident and of reconciliation during school holidays, the applicants must be working, a requirement that is equated to situations of absolute permanent disability and severe invalidity.
The grant covers two types of scenarios:
- Specific needs: illness or accident of the girl or boy or of the habitual caregiver, attendance at job interviews or training courses, specific work situations, and care of relatives up to the second degree.
- Reconciliation during 2026 school holiday periods: from January 1 to 7, February 16, 17, and 18, from March 30 to April 6, and from June 20 to September 8.
Amounts and eligible expenses
The contribution can reach up to 100% of the cost for large families, single-parent families, foster families, those with guardianship for adoption purposes, those with children with a recognized disability equal to or greater than 33%, or victims of gender-based violence. In all other cases, the coverage is up to 75%, always with a limit:
- 500 euros per family unit for the hiring of a domestic worker or home childcare services.
- 200 euros per girl or boy for attendance at authorized reconciliation services, toy libraries, children’s spaces, or private camps.
Camps organized directly or indirectly by public administrations, already financed with public funds, are excluded. Only one application may be submitted per girl or boy and for a single type of expense, except in cases of shared custody.
How and when to apply
Applications must be submitted electronically through the electronic office of the Xunta de Galicia (sede.xunta.gal), using any of the accepted identification mechanisms, including the Chave365 system. The period begins at 9:00 AM on September 9, 2026, and ends on October 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
The grant will be awarded in successive acts until the credit is exhausted, which is allocated to budget application 08.02.312B.480.11. The call is listed in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 926485.
The call consolidates the positive discrimination towards families of special consideration introduced in 2025, when the age of the beneficiaries was extended up to thirteen years following the implementation of free 0-3 preschools. With this new edition, the Xunta maintains one of its main tools so that thousands of Galician households can balance work and family life, both in the face of unforeseen events and during school holidays.
