Por FactBox Admin

A Regional Government of Galicia published this Friday in the Official Gazette of Galicia the Order of 3 August 2026, which regulates the terms and opens the call for the year 2026 for financial aid to victims of sexual violence provided for in Article 41 of Organic Law 10/2022, of 6 September, on the comprehensive guarantee of sexual freedom. The regulation, signed by the Minister for Social Policy and Equality, Fabiola García Martínez, allocates a budget of €2,022,638 to the call and leaves the application period open until 30 October 2026.

This is a subjective right funded from the general State budget: the competent ministry will reimburse the full amount of payments, while the granting authority is the administration competent in social services matters, in this case the Regional Government. The order is developed under Royal Decree 664/2024, of 9 July, which regulates these aids at the State level, and Law 11/2007, of 27 July, the Galician law for the prevention and comprehensive treatment of gender violence. The procedure will be processed under code SI434C and the text appears in the official bulletin with identifier CVE-DOG t4jzv9c2-oyu4-yaz5-i6g3-6denlznti897.

Amounts of up to 24 months of allowance

The amount of the aid is calculated in months of unemployment benefit and scales according to the personal and family situation of the victim:

  • 6 months of benefit as a general rule.
  • 12 or 18 months when the victim has one or more dependants.
  • 12, 18 or 24 months with a recognised disability equal to or greater than 33%.
  • 24 months in cases of disability of 65% or when the victim and their dependant have a disability.

The benefit may be received as a single payment or in six monthly instalments, may be extended once, and may be requested again when the victim has suffered differentiated violence accredited separately. As a general rule, the deadline to request the aid is five years from the issuance of the last accrediting document of the sexual violence.

Who can be a beneficiary

Women, girls and boys who are victims of sexual violence according to Article 3 of Organic Law 10/2022 may access the aid, regardless of their nationality and administrative situation, provided they are registered and have effective residence in any municipality of Galicia. Income must not exceed, on a monthly basis, the minimum interprofessional wage (SMI), a limit that rises to twice the SMI for victims who are minors or economically dependent on the family unit, and to three times in households of four or more members or with large family status. The status of victim is accredited through any of the following means:

  • Protection order or judicial decision with precautionary measure;
  • Conviction sentence for sexual violence;
  • Report from the Public Prosecutor’s Office with indications of sexual violence;
  • Report from social services, specialised in equality or shelter;
  • Report from the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate;
  • Official health documents of communication to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the case of minors.

Deadline and submission of applications

The deadline for the 2026 call begins after five business days from publication in the Official Gazette of Galicia and ends on 30 October 2026. Applications shall preferably be submitted electronically through the electronic office of the Xunta de Galicia (https://sede.xunta.gal), using mechanisms such as the Chave365 system, and optionally in person at any authorised registry. The resolution corresponds to the Directorate General for the Fight against Gender Violence, by delegation of the department, with a maximum period of two months, and the granting follows the non-competitive concurrence regime until the budget is exhausted, set at €1,272,638 for 2026 and €750,000 for 2027. If two months elapse without an express resolution, the application shall be deemed approved.

The call implements in Galicia a state-wide benefit designed to guarantee the economic autonomy of victims and facilitate their comprehensive recovery, with support that can reach the equivalent of two years of unemployment benefit. Interested persons may obtain information and standardised documentation on the Xunta website, by telephone 881 99 50 06 or by email vx.igualdade@xunta.gal.
