Fuerteventura announces the first exam for 14 administrative positions

The Island Council of Fuerteventura has approved the final list of admitted and excluded candidates, the schedule for the first exercise, and the composition of the Qualifying Board for the call for 14 Administrative positions within the permanent civil service staff. This is established by Decree number 5948/2026 of the President of the Council, dated August 20, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas number 102, dated August 26, 2026 (registry 1,762,159, page 14,985).

The positions will be filled through a competitive examination (concurso-oposición) system in the open category, including the creation of the corresponding reserve list, and are included in the 2024 Public Employment Offer. The process, managed by the Human Resources and Internal Regulations Service, is one of the most attended of the island corporation and affects hundreds of applicants.

Final list of admitted and excluded candidates

The announcement lists a total of 455 admitted persons and 97 excluded in the final phase. Reasons for exclusion include:

• Examination fees not paid (the most frequent reason).
• Failure to provide the required qualification for the position.
• Failure to provide the driver’s license required in the rules.
• Express withdrawal by some applicants.

Qualifying Board and order of appearance

The Qualifying Board is designated in accordance with the provisions of Article 60 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, which approves the revised text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee, and according to the general and specific rules of the call.

Regarding the order of appearance of the applicants, and in accordance with the Resolution of June 29, 2026, of the Secretary of State for Public Function, published in the Official State Gazette on July 3, 2026, the call will begin with those whose first surname starts with the letter “B”.

Date, time, and place of the first exercise

The first exercise of the examination phase, of a theoretical nature, is set with the following details:

• Date: September 22, 2026.
• Time: 16:00.
• Place: Granja Experimental de Pozo Negro.
• Type of test: first theoretical exercise.

The resolution, signed in Puerto del Rosario on August 21, 2026, by the President of the Council, will be published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, on the notice board, and on the island corporation’s website.

Relevance of the process

With 455 admitted candidates for 14 positions, the Administrative Assistant call is among the most in-demand selection processes of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, and its resolution will set the pace for the 2024 OPE (Public Employment Offer) on the island. The setting of the date for the first exercise provides certainty to the applicants, who must appear on September 22 at the Pozo Negro Experimental Farm with the required documentation, and opens the door to the following phases of the competitive examination process.
