Fuerteventura increases agricultural and fishing aid for 2026 to two million
Por FactBox Admin

The Insular Government Council of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura has increased by 1,200,000 euros the credit for Line 13 of individual agricultural and fishing grants and aid for inventoriable investments for 2026, which thus increases from 800,000 to 2,000,000 euros. The agreement, adopted on October 13, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas number 124, dated October 16, 2026, with the official reference 2,116,156 (announcement 3,320).
A call for applications that admits more requests than anticipated
The measure is part of the Public Call for Generic Grants, under a competitive bidding process, regarding agriculture, livestock, and fishing of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, 2026 annuality, approved by agreement of the Insular Government Council on July 30, 2026, and published in the BOP Las Palmas number 91, dated July 31, 2026.
That call expressly establishes that the assigned amount may be increased with other credits that may be allocated for such purposes, without said increase requiring a new call for applications. The now-published agreement relies on that provision to reinforce the allocation of one of its lines without reopening the procedure.
The official text justifies the decision on the grounds that the credit initially allocated for Line 13, amounting to 800,000.00 euros, was insufficient to meet the total number of applications admitted for processing, and that there is available credit for the necessary amount.
From 800,000 to 2,000,000 euros charged to the insular budget
The approved agreement specifies the following points:
- Approval of supplementary expenditure and confirmation of the existence of available credit in the amount of 1,200,000.00 euros.
- Budgetary charge application: 41360.4140C.7700026, titled “AGRICULTURAL AND FISHING AID GRANT”.
- Purpose: to address part of the applications that meet the requirements to be beneficiaries of Line 13. Individual Agricultural and Fishing Grants and/or Aid for Inventoriable Investments, 2026 annuality.
- Resulting total credit for the line: 2,000,000.00 euros.
The publication is arranged in accordance with the requirement contained in section 5 of article 58 of Royal Decree 887/2006, of July 21, which approves the Regulation of the General Law on Grants, which mandates the publication of additional amounts allocated to a call that has already been approved.
Who signs and where to consult
The announcement is signed in Puerto del Rosario, on October 14, 2026, by the Insular Delegated Councilor for the Primary Sector, Enrique Pérez Brito. The agreement of the collegiate body supporting it is dated October 13, 2026.
The insertion occupies pages 17788 and 17789 of the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas number 124, corresponding to Friday, October 16, 2026, within the section III. Local Administration, under the heading of the Most Excellent Insular Council of Fuerteventura.
The same issue of the gazette includes, in the section for that council, the approval of the modification of the public call for generic grants regarding Sports for 2026-2027, processed under order number 6960/2026.
Impact for farmers, livestock breeders, and fishers of the island
The expansion multiplies the initial allocation of the line by 2.5 and responds to a real demand: the number of applications admitted for processing exceeded the financial capacity planned in the call. The direct recipients are the farmers, livestock breeders, and fishers of Fuerteventura who have submitted inventoriable investment projects and meet the requirements of the guidelines.
By not requiring a new call, the increase allows for the favorable resolution of a greater number of files already submitted within the same procedure, without the interested parties having to apply again. The publication in the official gazette is the procedure that provides publicity and effectiveness to the expansion, so that applicants can now consult the details of the available credit and the budgetary application that finances it.
