Fuertescusa subasta 3.720 toneladas de pino a 19 euros por tonelada

The Administrative Board of Private Assets of Fuertescusa has put up for public auction the timber harvesting of the forest area known as “Umbrías del Río Escabas, Los Altos y Otros 39-41-55”, with a total estimated volume of 3,720 tons of pine. The announcement, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cuenca no. 107, dated September 16, 2026, under announcement no. 2163, sets a bidding price of 19 euros per ton, upwards, and schedules the opening of bids for 12:00 PM on October 31, 2026. The call for bids was approved following the approval of the specifications by the Board itself, whose president, Salvador Valiente Bachiller, signed the announcement in Fuertescusa on September 10, 2026.

The file is processed through the disposal by auction procedure and is published in the Local Administration section of the provincial gazette, on page 43. Any interested persons who are not disqualified from contracting with local corporations may participate, in a procedure designed for the timber and sawmill sector of the Cuenca Highlands.

Volume and breakdown of the harvest

The timber subject to the auction corresponds to the species Pinus nigra in combination with Pinus sylvestris, with a total estimated volume of 3,720 tons. The announcement breaks down this volume by forest sectors:

  • Sector 39: 594 tons.
  • Sector 41: 1,144 tons.
  • Sector 55: 385 tons.

The objective is the disposal by auction of the forest timber, subject strictly to the requirements and conditions contained in the file.

Economic conditions and bond

The bidding price is established at 19 euros per ton, upwards, and the provisional bond is set at 2% of the appraisal price. The payment schedule provided for in the specifications is as follows:

  • 50% of the appraisal price must be paid before the cutting begins.
  • The remaining 50%, minus the provisional bond, will be paid once the cutting has started.

All expenses incurred by the harvesting shall be borne by the successful bidder, including those for marking, the verification of timber on the stump before skidding, announcements, fees, and the legally established VAT on the final hammer price, as well as expenses for the removal of debris. The amount of these expenses and the final hammer price must be paid at the moment it is requested.

Requirements, submission of bids, and deadlines

Proposals must conform to the model contained in the file and be submitted in a sealed envelope, which may be waxed and stamped, to the Secretariat of the Board up until the moment of the opening of bids. Bidders must prove their identity with their D.N.I. or, where applicable, with the company’s deed of incorporation and a copy of the C.I.F., provide the receipt for the deposited guarantee, and prove that they possess the business qualification document for the sawing sector issued by the competent administrative authority for timber bidding.

Regarding the execution deadlines, the area subject to harvesting must be cleared of all types of cutting residues before the harvesting is considered completed, which must take place before January 31, 2028.

The auction reaches the forestry sector of the Serranía with a relevant volume of black and wild pine and a type of sale that will set the price reference for the region. For timber operators and interested sawing companies, the schedule is tight: the documentation and the guarantee must be prepared before the opening of bids on October 31, 2026, and the cutting and cleaning of the forest are conditions for the payment of the second installment of the price.
