Fuentetoba urgently approves water and sewage for the La Monjía BIC
Por FactBox Admin

The Minor Local Entity of Fuentetoba, a district of the municipality of Golmayo, has urgently approved the technical project to extend the water supply and sewerage to the building declared a Site of Cultural Interest, La Monjía, owned by the local entity itself, with a total execution budget of 50,000 euros, VAT included. The decision was adopted through resolution 2026-0031, dated October 20, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria no. 124, dated October 28, 2026, with the official reference BOPSO-124-28102026 (page 3801). The announcement subjects the project to public review for only eight days from the date of publication.
Urgent approval and period for allegations
The published text specifies that the approval occurs “by urgency,” a formula for which the local entity provides no express justification in the announcement. The project is displayed so that interested parties may submit any claims or allegations they deem appropriate, and it will be considered definitively approved if none are submitted during the exhibition period.
The period is eight days starting from the publication of the announcement in the provincial gazette. Unlike other work announcements from the same plan appearing in the gazette, which specify “eight business days” or fifteen business days, this edict does not specify the business nature of the eight days.
The announcement was signed in Fuentetoba on October 20, 2026, by the District Mayor, Luciano Hernández Recio.
La Monjía, protected heritage with new services
The work is officially titled “Extension of water supply and sewerage to the building declared a site of cultural interest (BIC), La Monjía, property of this E.L.M.” Therefore, the intervention affects two simultaneous fronts:
- A property declared a Site of Cultural Interest, the highest level of historical heritage protection in the community.
- The extension of two basic municipal networks, drinking water and sanitation, to that building.
- The local ownership of the property, which belongs to the Minor Local Entity of Fuentetoba and not to a private individual.
The technical project was drafted by the municipal Technical Public Works Engineer, Alberto Jiménez Barranco.
Fifty thousand euros charged to the 2026 Provincial Council Plan
The action is identified as work no. 116 of the 2026 Provincial Council Plan, the cooperation program of the Provincial Council of Soria with the municipalities and minor local entities of the province. The total execution budget amounts to 50,000.00 euros, an amount presented in the announcement including VAT and without a breakdown between materials, labor, or project management.
The Minor Local Entity of Fuentetoba also appears in the Provincial Council Plan with another allocation of 10,000 euros for the repair of the road to Toledillo, according to the list published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria no. 122, of October 23, 2026, within an annex of rural roads that distributes amounts among dozens of Soria towns.
Closing
The news directly affects the residents of Fuentetoba, who see a provincial investment of 50,000 euros being awarded to provide water and sanitation to a protected building, and to the entirety of Soria’s cultural heritage, because intervening on a BIC (Asset of Cultural Interest) requires extreme care in layouts, trenches, and finishes. The actual margin for citizen participation is, however, reduced to eight days from the official publication, without the announcement detailing the content of the project or the itemized cost of the work.
