Fresno de Sayago publishes the crop plan for its land consolidation project

The Regional Government of Castilla y León, through the Territorial Service of Agriculture, Livestock, and Rural Development of the Territorial Delegation of Zamora, has published the crop and land-use plan for the land consolidation of the Fresno de Sayago area (Zamora). The announcement appears in the Official Gazette of the Province of Zamora number 106, dated September 11, 2026, and requires all farmers in the area to comply with the cultivation rules until the new replacement plots are defined.

The document, signed on September 10, 2026, is part of a process that was declared of public utility and urgent execution by agreement 70/2020, published in the BOCyL number 212, dated October 13, 2020. The consolidation is currently in the definitive basis phase.

Regulatory Framework

The obligation derives from Article 18.2 of Decree 1/2018, of January 11, which approves the Land Consolidation Regulations of the Community of Castilla y León. According to this provision, from the publication of the agreement declaring public utility and urgent execution, the beneficiaries of the land consolidation must comply with the determined crop and land-use plan.

The plan applies to all plots in the area and establishes two essential obligations:

• Until the new replacement plots are defined, the original plots must continue to be cultivated according to local uses and customs.
• The traces of new roads and existing old roads must be respected and left uncultivated.

Sanctions for Non-Compliance

Failure to comply with the provisions of the crop plan is classified as a minor infringement under Article 201.1 d) of Law 1/2014, of March 19, the Agrarian Law of Castilla y León. The sanction may consist of a warning or a fine of up to 1,000 euros, as provided for in Article 202.1 a) of the same legal text.

This classification affects all farmers and plot holders included within the scope of the consolidation, who must adjust their activities to the published rules to avoid financial penalties.
