Foz appoints Jaime Alberto Roca Longueira as Local Police officer
Por FactBox Admin

The Foz City Council has appointed Jaime Alberto Roca Longueira as a Local Police officer, according to Mayoral Resolution No. 2026-0894, dated October 13, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo (BOP) No. 239, dated October 19, 2026. The appointment fills a position included in the 2025 public employment offer, and the new official must take office within one month.
The resolution, signed by Mayor Francisco Cajoto Caserío in Foz on October 13, publicizes the appointment for the purposes of Article 62 of the revised text of the Basic Statute of Public Employees Law, approved by Legislative Royal Decree 5/2015, of October 30, and Article 60 of Law 2/2015, of April 29, on public employment in Galicia. The announcement appears in the provincial gazette under reference R. 2791, within the section of municipal announcements.
Position Characteristics
The appointed position is of a civil service nature and is categorized within the Special Administration scale, according to the sheet accompanying the resolution:
- OEP: 2025.
- Group: C.
- Subgroup: C1.
- Scale: Special Administration.
- Denomination: local police officer.
- Number of positions: 1.
The identification of the appointed person appears in the announcement with the name and surnames and the DNI partially hidden (***4417), in accordance with the data protection criteria applied by the gazette in its personnel announcements.
Deadline for Taking Office
The text establishes that officials must take office “within one month counting from the day following the publication of this resolution in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo.” Taking the publication of October 19 as a reference, the period begins on October 20 and ends on November 20, 2026.
Publication in the BOP is not a simple formality: it is the act that activates the calculation of the possession period and from which the appointment takes effect for the designated person and for the municipal organization.
Further Personnel Movements in the Council
The appointment of the Local Police officer adds to other selection processes that the Foz City Council closed in recent weeks. On October 13, BOP No. 234 published the resolution declaring the final list of candidates approved and proposing the appointment of Miguel Ángel Janeiro Tapia to a position as administrative assistant (group IV, code 6025, free turn) as permanent contractual staff, with a reserve list headed by Lorena Burundarena Maseda.
Earlier in September, BOP No. 211 (September 15, 2026) contained the final list of admitted and excluded candidates for that same administrative assistant call, along with the composition of the qualifying tribunal and the call for the first exercise. The council’s selection activity thus covers both general administration positions and the filling of Local Police posts.
The incorporation of a Local Police officer is further reinforced by a newly created position in the 2025 public employment offer, which links the appointment to a previously approved personnel plan and not to a specific substitution.
Impact on the service
Since this appointment, the Local Police of Foz has one additional officer in the special Administration scale, with an entry category (group C1) that is standard in local bodies in Galicia. Taking office within the fixed deadline is the condition for the position to be effectively filled and for the council to have the service available under the terms provided in its job position list.
