Formentera eleva a definitiva la subvenció de 3.000 euros a l'Associació Farallón

The Insular Council of Formentera has finalized the modification of the execution bases and the list of nominative subsidies of its general budget for 2026, which incorporates a subsidy of €3,000 in favor of the Farallón Association. The decision, adopted by plenary agreement on July 30, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB) no. 113, of September 10, 2026, within Section I of general provisions (document 9051).

The modification was initially approved and exposed for public information through announcement 8143 of BOIB no. 101, of August 13, 2026. After the 15-day period elapsed without any allegations or suggestions being presented, the report from the secretariat area, dated September 4, 2026, confirmed the absence of written submissions, a fact that allowed the modification to be made final.

A nominative subsidy for equality and LGBTQI+ rights

The subsidy is granted to the Farallón Association (CIF G88756523) for the purpose of promoting gender equality, defending the rights of people in the LGBTQIQA+ collective, and preventing discrimination and LGBTI-phobic violence. The enabled budget line is 2026.1.2311.48000, with a maximum amount of €3,000.

The grant replaces the initial provision, which appeared under the name “LGBTQIQA+ Pride and Trans October” (CIF G72420425), and is expressly conditional upon the entry into force of the budget modification.

Update of the Strategic Subsidy Plan 2026-2027

The agreement also modifies the Strategic Subsidy Plan 2026-2027 to adapt it to the new budgetary reality. Specifically, Chapter III “Subsidies regarding social action”, action 5, is updated and now reads with the following elements:

  • Objectives: promotion of gender equality, defense of the rights of the LGBTQIQA+ collective, and prevention and elimination of gender-based discrimination and LGBTI-phobic violence.
  • Estimated cost: €3,000.
  • Funding: own funds, charged to chapter IV of the Council’s budgets.
  • Action plan: signing of the corresponding agreement.
  • Procedure: granting of a nominative subsidy, in accordance with what is provided in the budget for the corresponding year.

Processing and effects

The processing has been based on article 63 of the Execution Bases of the Council’s budget, article 169 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries (TRLRHL), and article 113 of the Organic Regulation of Operation (ROC). The remaining execution bases and the strategic plan that have not been subject to modification remain in force. The agreement bears the electronic signature of the president of the Council, Oscar Portas Juan, dated September 7, 2026.

With this decision, Formentera consolidates its economic support for the entities working for equality and the defense of the rights of the LGTBIQ+ collective on the island, providing stable resources for an action that until now had no own nominative allocation.
