The Selection Board for the five Industrial Technical Engineer positions for the Autonomous City of Melilla has scheduled the first exercise of the competitive examination for Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., at the Miguel Fernández Secondary Education Institute. The agreement, adopted in the session of September 15, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Autonomous City of Melilla (BOME) number 6415, dated September 18, 2026, with the official reference BOME-A-2026-1049 on page 4780.

The call for applications corresponds to five civil servant positions belonging to the Special Administration Scale, Technical Subscale, which will be filled through an open competitive examination procedure. The rules of the call were published in BOME number 6356, dated February 24, 2026, and are governed by the General Application Rules approved in BOME number 5000, dated February 15, 2013. The reference file is 48037/2025, and the processing depends on the Ministry of Presidency, Public Administration, and Equality.

An 80-question test and 90 minutes

The first exercise will consist of a multiple-choice questionnaire of 80 questions, plus 5 reserve questions for possible annulments. Each question will offer multiple responses with three alternatives, of which only one will be correct, and will cover the topics included in the program, both in its general and specific parts.

The maximum time available to complete the test will be 90 minutes. There will be a single call, meaning that candidates must appear at the indicated place and time for the entirety of the exercise.

Single call at the Miguel Fernández

The test will be held at the Miguel Fernández Secondary Education Institute, located on General Astilleros Street, opposite the old Local Police barracks. The call will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

The Board has also arranged for the publication, on the website and on the Notice Board of the Autonomous City of Melilla, of an informative note with the rules and instructions to be followed on the day of the exercise. The announcement is signed by Jesús Manuel Jiménez Ruiz, General Administration Technician, in Melilla on September 16, 2026.

Board constituted and modified in September

The selection body was constituted by Order number 3934, dated August 21, 2026, published in BOME number 6408, dated August 25, 2026. Its primary composition is as follows:

  • Presidency: José Carlos Medero Ramírez.
  • Members: Maximiliano Casalari Floriano, Juan Carlos Márquez Alonso, Daniel Antonio Molina García, Paola Calzado Liarte, Israel Sánchez Castillo and Francisca Fernández del Carmen.
  • Secretariat: Jesús M. Jiménez Ruiz.

Order number 4170, dated September 9, 2026, published in BOME number 6414, dated September 15, 2026, accepted the recusals of José Mª Boj de Diego and Ahlam Chanfouh Aouragh as full members and agreed to their substitution by Israel Sánchez Castillo and Francisca Fernández del Carmen. Additionally, it appointed Javier Maldonado Salinas and Paula Aznar Martínez as alternate members.

Twenty-two admitted and three excluded

The final list of applicants was approved by Order number 3916, dated August 21, 2026, also published in BOME number 6408. The final list comprises 22 admitted applicants and 3 excluded:

  • Mohamed Benaissa Ayad, excluded.
  • Paula González Fernández, excluded.
  • Pedro Guerrero El Kinani, excluded.

The three were excluded for providing academic qualifications that were not valid according to the rules of the call. The provisional list had been published in BOME number 6402, dated August 4, 2026, and the period for claims ended on August 18.

The established calendar opens the decisive phase of a selection process that began in February and will allow for the incorporation of five new industrial technical engineers into the staff of the Autonomous City of Melilla. For the 22 admitted applicants, the appointment on October 13 is the first filter of an open competitive examination in which the 80-question, 90-minute test will mark the starting point.
