Figueres allocates 100,000 euros in discount vouchers for local commerce

The City Council of Figueres has announced grants totaling 100,000 euros aimed at establishments in the city participating in the campaign “If you love Figueres, shop in Figueres,” which will take place from October 20 to November 25, 2026. The call, signed by Mayor Jordi Masquef Creus on October 13, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona (BOP) number 200, dated October 16, 2026, with the official reference CVE BOP-2026_0_200_8874 and edict number 8874.

The measure is framed within the regulatory bases approved by the local governing board of Figueres on November 12, 2025, and published in the BOPG number 223, edict 10,456, on November 21, 2025. The granting procedure is non-competitive, and the call is also listed in the National Grants Database with identification number 934814.

The stated objective is to promote the municipal economy and shopping at local businesses to counteract the increase in online sales and the creation and expansion of large shopping centers that reduce the flow of consumers to the city’s commercial center.

Amounts and Budgetary Credit

• Total amount allocated for the grant in the form of discount vouchers: 100,000 euros.
• Grant per establishment: the total of vouchers collected, entered, and correctly justified in the application, up to a maximum of 2,000 euros, equivalent to 200 vouchers.
• Budgetary application: 2026 401 43900 48002 AJUTS CAMPANYA COMERÇ-VALS DESCOMPTE.
• Grants will be awarded until the available credit is exhausted.

Deadlines and Procedures for Establishments

Businesses can join the campaign from the day after the publication of the call in the BOP until October 19, 2026. The application is formalized via a form available on the Figueres City Council website, which must be accompanied by the following documentation:

• IAE registration, model 036 or 037, as applicable.
• Photographs of the establishment.

Each applicant may submit only one application. If the request has deficiencies, the City Council will require correction within a maximum and non-extendable period of 10 business days; otherwise, the application will be declared withdrawn and the proceedings archived. The justification for the grant must be submitted by December 10, 2026, at the latest.

10-Euro Vouchers for Registered Citizens

The recipients of the vouchers are citizens registered in Figueres aged 18 and over, using September 30, 2026, as the reference date to determine age. Each person receives two 10-euro vouchers, which are downloaded through the municipal application by entering their DNI.

• Minimum purchase of 20 euros to use each voucher.
• One or two vouchers can be used per purchase.
• Both vouchers can be spent in a single purchase if it is 40 euros or more.
• No more than two vouchers per purchase may be used, nor vouchers belonging to different people.
• Vouchers are valid for 15 days or until November 25, 2026; if they expire, they cannot be obtained again.

Resolution and appeals

The instruction and resolution of the procedure correspond to the Girona Chamber of Commerce, in accordance with the collaboration agreement with the City Council of Figueres. The maximum deadline to resolve the granting or denial is December 26, 2026 and, if the resolution has not been published, the application is understood to be dismissed by administrative silence. The Girona Chamber of Commerce will also resolve any eventuality not regulated in the rules.

Against the resolution agreement of the call, which ends the administrative route, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Girona within a period of two months, or, optionally, a request for reversal before the competent body within a period of one month.

The call reaches the small businesses of Figueres with a double effect: it injects up to 2,000 euros per establishment as compensation for the discounts applied and, at the same time, stimulates local consumption in the middle of the autumn campaign. With 100,000 euros at stake and a calendar that starts on October 20, interested businesses have until October 19 to join if they wish to capture part of these vouchers.
