Ferrol abre axudas de 24.000 euros para festas patronais de barrios

The Ferrol City Council opens the public call for grants for the development of activities or events for patron saint festivals of neighborhoods and parishes for the 2026 fiscal year, with a budget credit of 24,000 euros. The call, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 175 on September 14, 2026 (announcement 2026/5904), is processed under a non-competitive regime and is annual in nature.

The grants are intended for neighborhood associations, festival associations, and legally constituted non-profit entities that hire live music performances for the patron saint festivals of urban neighborhoods and parishes within the municipality. The call is governed by the specific regulatory bases approved by agreement of the Local Government Board on August 11, 2026, published in BOP number 156 on August 18, 2026.

Credit and amount of grants

The total available credit is 24,000 euros, charged to budget application 05101 3381 48000 of the municipal budgets of the Ferrol City Council for 2026. The individual amount may not exceed 5,000 euros per entity nor exceed the cost of the activity effectively carried out and justified.

  • The credit will be distributed in equal parts among all admitted applications.
  • If the resulting amount exceeds what was requested by any entity, the surplus will be redistributed among the remaining beneficiaries.
  • The apportionment will be carried out in accordance with article 19.3 of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on grants in Galicia.

Who can apply and which expenses are subsidized

All neighborhood associations, festival associations, and non-profit entities operating within the Ferrol City Council that meet the requirements of the third base of the regulatory bases may apply. Subsidizable expenses are those directly linked to the hiring and development of live musical performances:

  • Fees for artists or groups performing at the patron saint festivals.
  • Technical sound and lighting services.
  • Scenic infrastructure directly linked to the performances.

Expenses must be incurred between January 1 and December 31, 2026, and the justification must be submitted via the City Council’s electronic office.

Deadline and processing

Applications shall be submitted in electronic format through the electronic Registry of the City Council’s electronic office, using the model attached to the bases, within a period of 10 business days starting from the day following the publication of the extract in the BOP. The instruction corresponds to the Department of Festivals, and the grant will be approved by resolution of the special delegated councilor for Youth, Festivals, New Technologies, and Ferrol Brand, Arán López Martínez, following the proposal of the Culture office.

The maximum period for notifying the express resolution is six months from the end of the submission period, after which the lack of a resolution will have a dismissive effect. The resolution ends the administrative route.

Relevance for readers

This call represents direct support for social initiative and popular culture in Ferrol, by financing the musical programming of the patron saint festivals organized by the neighborhood and festival entities themselves. Since it is processed as a non-competitive call, all applications that meet the requirements may be beneficiaries, which guarantees an equitable distribution of the credit among the neighborhoods and parishes of the municipality.
