Farolas, tablones y colegios gratuitos para la campaña electoral del 29 de noviembre

The Zonal Electoral Board of San Fernando has designated the official premises and public spaces reserved for the free conduct of campaign events for the general elections on November 29, 2026. The edict, signed by secretary Ana Mena Gálvez, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz no. 205, dated October 23, 2026, under announcement no. 355,218. The list covers the five municipalities of the constituency: San Fernando, Medina Sidonia, Benalup-Casas Viejas, Alcalá de los Gazules, and Paterna de Rivera.

The document is issued in compliance with Article 57.2 of the Organic Law 5/1985, of June 19, on the General Electoral Regime, which requires city councils to reserve free spaces for propaganda and to communicate them to the Zonal Electoral Board. The electoral campaign runs from 00:00 hours on Friday, November 13, until 24:00 hours on Friday, November 27, 2026, two days before the vote. The edict is dated October 14, 2026.

San Fernando: 603 lampposts and six banners

The City Council of San Fernando reserves six banners approximately 2 meters high and 2.44 meters long, with a poster-pasting surface of 1.22 by 2.44 meters each, for the start of the campaign in Plaza San José. Additionally, it permits simple and double banners on lampposts over 6 meters high on the following roads:

  • Avenida Pery Junquera: 59 lampposts.
  • Calle San Marcos and extension, from Calle Dolores to Camposoto beach: 136 lampposts.
  • Calle Magallanes, up to Calle Santo Ángel: 7 lampposts; and from Santo Ángel to Casería beach: 11 lampposts.
  • Avenida Cayetano Roldán: 37 lampposts.
  • Avenida de la Marina: 26 lampposts.
  • Avenida de San Juan Bosco: 24 lampposts.
  • Avenida Ronda del Estero: 105 lampposts.
  • Carretera de la Carraca, from Puente de San Juan to Venta de Vargas: 24 lampposts.
  • Avenida Al-Andalus: 45 lampposts.
  • Avenida Rafael Alberti: 13 lampposts.
  • Avenida Constitución: 94 lampposts.
  • Calle José Ramos Borrero: 22 lampposts.

The technical conditions set a maximum of two sets of posters per lamppost, except in Ronda del Estero and San Juan Bosco, where three are permitted, and limit each poster to 0.60 by 1.10 meters. Banners shall be attached with a metal crossbar that does not protrude more than 0.80 meters from the axis of the shaft. It is prohibited to place banners between lampposts or use them as fastening elements, as well as to install propaganda on lampposts under 4 meters, on artistic-style lampposts, and on the catenary poles of Calle Real, Rotonda de Gómez Pablo, Plaza Juan Vargas, Avenida Puente Zuazo, and Montañeses de la Isla.

Schools, squares, and open spaces

The playgrounds of municipal early childhood and primary education centers may be used outside of school hours, provided they do not interfere with extracurricular activities; the list includes the CEIP Las Cortes, Almirante Laulhé, Casería de Ossio, San Ignacio, Reina de la Paz, Servando Camúñez, Arquitecto Leoz, La Ardila, Erytheia, Raimundo Rivero, Constitución, Los Esteros, Puente Zuazo, Juan Sebastián Elcano, Camposoto, and Manuel de Falla. Organizations must contact each center in advance.

As outdoor spaces, the Alameda Moreno de Guerra, Plaza del Carmen, Plaza de las Alegrías, Bulevar Reyes Católicos, Plaza San José, Paseo General Lobo, and Parque Almirante Laulhé are reserved until 11:00 PM.

Medina Sidonia: ten notice boards and no lampposts

Medina Sidonia does not reserve lampposts or banners, but it installs ten 3 by 2.50-meter notice boards on Avenida Prado de la Feria, Avenida del Mar, Calle Tejar, Plaza José Suárez, Plaza San Fermín (San José de Malcocinado nucleus), and Calle Larga in the same nucleus. For outdoor events, it offers eleven locations, including Plaza de España, Plaza de la Iglesia Mayor, Explanada Paseo Feria, Plaza de la Corredera, Parque de El Caminillo, and Plaza Alcalde Manuel Mateo Rico in Los Badalejos, available until 12:00 AM.

Indoor venues, available until 11:00 PM, are the Teatro Miguel Mihura (except on November 14 and 21), the Edificio Municipal El Silo, the Mercado de Abastos, the Caseta Municipal Prado de la Feria, the Salón cultural Calle Muro, the Caballerizas del Duque, the CEIP Santiago el Mayor, Doctor Thebussem, and Ángel Ruiz Enciso, and the Edificio Municipal de Los Badalejos.

Benalup, Alcalá de los Gazules and Paterna de Rivera

In Benalup-Casas Viejas, posters are enabled on Calle Conciliar, Paseo de la Guardia Civil, Rotonda del Ayuntamiento, and Calle Paternilla, as well as venues such as the Salón de Actos del Centro Cultural Jerome Mintz, the schools Tajo de las Figuras and Padre Muriel, the IES Casas Viejas, and various squares, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. In Alcalá de los Gazules, the Alameda de la Cruz, Plaza Alta, Paseo de la Playa, Blancazul, the El Prao neighborhood, and Santo Domingo are reserved, along with the Salón de Actos del Instituto Sainz de Andino, the Parque Municipal Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente, and the Centro Cultural Santo Domingo from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Paterna de Rivera offers the facades of the Centro Municipal de Educación de Adultos, posters on lampposts in the urban center, and three locations: Plaza de la Constitución, Plaza de la Libertad, and Plaza Susana Pérez Valverde.

The allocation sets the rules of the game for a two-week campaign and transfers to the parties the obligation to remove all propaganda upon the conclusion of the electoral period, in addition to assuming liability for any damages caused to street furniture. With 603 lampposts available in San Fernando alone, the Zonal Electoral Board resolves the logistics of propaganda within its constituency before the official start of the campaign.
