The I Cacereños Sports Awards 2025 have been decided

The Department of Sports of the Cáceres City Council has made public the verdict of the Jury for the I Cacereño Sports Awards 2025, agreed upon in its meeting on July 30, 2026. The resolution, which grants accrediting diplomas and commemorative figures to the winners, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres with reference CVE BOP-2026-3946.
The jury’s verdict is final and is announced in the official provincial gazette, as established by the regulatory bases of the call.
Framework of the Call
The regulatory bases for the granting of the I Cacereño Sports Awards 2025 were published on February 11, 2026, in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres, number 28. The jury met on July 30, 2026, to study the submitted candidacies.
In accordance with the Seventh regulatory base, the jury’s verdict is final and is published in the provincial gazette. The Ninth base attributes to the head of the Department of Sports the resolution that publicizes the verdict and grants the diplomas and commemorative figures to the winners.

The jury has recognized athletes, technicians, and entities in nine categories, in addition to two special mentions:
- Cacereño Sports Award: Jesús Luis Blanco Morales (basketball)
- Best Overall Female Athlete: vacant
- Best Overall Male Athlete: Guillermo Gracia Núñez (adapted swimming)
- Best Promising Female Athlete: Sonia Rubio Herguijuela (wrestling)
- Best Promising Male Athlete: Álvaro Pozo Marroyo (padel)
- Best Coach: Carlos Corcho Portillo (swimming)
- Best Judge, Referee or Official: Sergio Salomé Vizuete (futsal)
- Best Sporting Event: 29th Gimnastrada Extremadura 2025 “For Trust”
- Best Sporting Entity: Club Polideportivo Licenciados Reunidos
Special Jury Mentions
The jury wished to distinguish two figures linked to Cacereño sports with a special mention:
- Lorenzo Díaz “Chipi”
- Saturnino Montero Iglesias “Satur”
Relevance for the Sporting Community
With these first awards, the Cáceres City Council launches an institutional recognition that highlights the trajectory of athletes, technicians, referees, entities, and events in the city. The publication of the verdict in the official gazette gives a public and firm character to awards that seek to establish themselves as an annual reference event for Cacereño sports.
