Extremadura renews the Presidency and the representatives of the Vocational Training Council

The Department of Education and Vocational Training and the Department of Economy, Employment and Digital Transformation have renewed the Presidency, the Vice-Presidency, and the representatives of the regional Administration in the Vocational Training Council of Extremadura. The decision is formalized through a joint order dated September 14, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) number 184, of September 23, 2026, with reference 2026050105. The text dismisses seven members and their alternates, appoints eight new representatives, and designates the head of the Secretariat.

The Vocational Training Council of Extremadura is a consultative and advisory body, with a tripartite composition, created and regulated by Decree 75/2001, of May 29. It includes the most representative trade union and business organizations of the autonomous community and the departments involved in vocational training.

Its Organization and Operation Regulations, approved by the Order of April 16, 2022, establish in Article 14 that the composition of the Council is renewed every four years, taking into account changes in the representativeness of business and trade union organizations. The appointment, renewal, or dismissal of the Administration’s representatives and their alternates corresponds to a joint order from the departments competent in education and employment. The previous designation was made via the Order of March 1, 2024 (DOE no. 49, of March 11), and changes produced in the represented administrative bodies and units have now necessitated an update of the composition.

Dismissal of seven members and their alternates

The first section of the order dismisses the following members of the Council and their respective alternates:

• Pedro Antonio Pérez Durán, Director General of Vocational Training, Innovation and Educational Inclusion.
• Abraham Rodríguez Cano, Head of the Adult and Distance Learning Service.
• María Frade Castro, teaching technical advisor of the Vocational Training Service.
• Pedro García Barquero, teaching technical advisor of the Vocational Training Service.
• María José Nevado del Campo, Director General of Training for Employment.
• José Antonio Villalba Calderón, Head of the Training for Employment Section.
• Alejandro Acedo Lavado, administrative assistant of the Vocational Training Service.

New full members and alternates

The second section appoints eight full members, each with their alternate:

• Alberto Luján Salamanca, Director General of Vocational Training, substituted by Juan Pablo Cacereño Jiménez, Head of the Vocational Training Service.
• Juan Pablo Cacereño Jiménez, Head of the Vocational Training Service, substituted by Marco Antonio Domínguez Blanco, technical teaching advisor.
• Susana Bautista Martínez, technical teaching advisor of the Vocational Training Service, substituted by Mario Rodríguez Arribas.
• Raquel Paz Labrador, Head of the Adult and Distance Education Service, substituted by Miguel Antonio Rodríguez Gil.
• Teresa Morales Cascos, Director General of Training for Employment, substituted, when there is a justified cause and in any case when she holds the Vice-Presidency, by María Teresa Reyes Murillo, Head of the Employment Training Programs Service.
• Juan Sánchez Moreno, Head of the Mixed Training and Employment Programs Service, substituted by Alfonso Fernández Álvarez.
• Pedro María Rodríguez Rodríguez, Head of the Employment Policies Unit, substituted by Jesús Manuel Arancón Revilla, Director of the Don Benito Training Center.
• María Teresa Reyes Murillo, Head of the Employment Training Service, substituted by Carmen Sánchez Valdepeñas.

Secretariat and entry into force

The third section appoints Francisca Ramírez Fernández, Head of the Vocational Training Planning Section, as Secretary of the Council, who will be substituted by Gabriel Domínguez Domínguez, administrative assistant of the Vocational Training Service.

The order shall take effect from the day following its publication in the DOE, that is, from September 24, 2026, and the replaced appointments shall cease to be effective from that date. The text was signed in Mérida on September 14, 2026, by the Councilor for Education and Vocational Training, Sandra Victoria Valencia Ramos, and the Councilor for Economy, Employment, and Digital Transformation, Guillermo Santamaría Galdón.

The renewal directly affects the governance of the vocational training system in the region, as the Council is the channel for institutional participation of trade unions, employers’ associations, and the Administration in the design and monitoring of the VT offer. With the new members, the departments of Education and Employment reinforce their presence in a body that advises on the planning of education, training for employment, and its connection with the productive fabric of Extremadura.
