Extremadura redistributes 3.77 million for electric vehicle charging

The Regional Ministry of Industry, Energy, Science and Territory of the Regional Government of Extremadura has published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) no. 169, of September 1, 2026, the modification of the summary and announcement publicizing the redistribution of the credit assigned to Incentive Program 2: Implementation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, of the MOVES III 2025 program. The measure, signed in Mérida on July 15, 2026, by the general secretary, María de la Concepción Montero Gómez, reassigns a total of 3,770,723 euros to be able to address all submitted applications.

The program is framed within Royal Decree-Law 3/2025, of April 1, which regulated the incentives linked to electric mobility (MOVES III) for 2025, published in the BOE no. 79, and is governed by the provisions of Royal Decree 266/2021, of April 13 (BOE no. 89). The call was approved by the Resolution of September 11, 2025, of the General Secretariat, and its summary was published in the DOE no. 182, of September 22, 2025, with identifiers BDNS 857169, 857170 and 857172. The financing of the grants is carried out with funds integrated into the assets of the EPE Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE).

Why the credit is being redistributed

The seventeenth resolution of the call already provided that the initial credits assigned to each budget application could be reassigned at any time by the instructing body, with the purpose of attending to applications that meet the requirements within the deadline. Following the closing and opening operations of the 2025 financial year, the committed and available credits as of June 8, 2026, amounted to 325,269.96 euros committed and 3,445,453.04 euros available.

Since all applications for new grants had been submitted to Incentive Program 2, it became necessary to redistribute the credits allocated to the different budget positions to provide credit to positions G/333A/76000* (subject to the exemption regime) and G/333A/78000, and thus address all applications. The competence to agree on the distribution corresponds to the General Secretariat of the Regional Ministry of Industry, Energy, Science and Territory, in accordance with the President’s Decree 11/2026, of April 29 (DOE no. 82, of April 30).

New distribution by budget positions

The redistribution, attributed to the 2026 annuality, is broken down as follows:

• G/333A/76000* (exemption regime): 433,305.96 €
• G/333A/77000* (exemption regime): 2,305,378.47 €
• G/333A/77000** (de minimis regime): 377,072.00 €
• G/333A/78000: 654,966.57 €
• Total: 3,770,723.00 €

Positions G/333A/70000, G/333A/70000*, G/333A/73200, and G/333A/76000 are left without assigned credit for the 2026 fiscal year. Beneficiaries covered by European Commission Regulation (EU) 651/2014 (block exemption regime) and Regulation (EU) 2023/2831 (de minimis regime) are distinguished by the corresponding asterisks.

Impact for companies and individuals

The reallocation ensures that aid applications for the installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure submitted on time can be processed using the 2026 budget, preventing them from remaining unfunded due to a lack of credit in the initially planned budget positions. The measure benefits both companies and individuals installing charging points in the autonomous community.

With this modification, Extremadura ensures the deployment of the electric charging network in its territory within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Mechanism funds, reinforcing the regional commitment to sustainable mobility and the energy transition.
