Extremadura redistributes 1.6 million in grants for performing arts and music

The Regional Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Regional Government of Extremadura has modified the summary of the call for grants for performing arts and music programming in the Network of theaters and other performing arts spaces of Extremadura for the 2026 financial year, which distributes a total of 1,600,000 euros between two procedures. The modification is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) number 183, of September 22, 2026, with the official reference 2026062362. The change does not alter the global amount of the call, but only its internal distribution between the two planned procedures.

The original summary was published in DOE number 2, of January 5, 2026, in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a) of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and its full text can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (BDNS), with identifier 878232. The call is governed by Decree 152/2024, of December 12, which regulates the Network of theaters and other performing arts spaces of Extremadura and establishes the regulatory bases for the granting of grants for performing arts programming, published in DOE number 7, of January 13, 2025.

New distribution of the amount

The purpose of the modification is to reflect the transfer to the second procedure of the amount not applied in the first, in application of the provisions of article 26.3 of Decree 152/2024. Section “Fourth. Amount” of the summary is rewritten with the following allocation:

• 1,085,633.99 euros for the first procedure.
• 514,366.01 euros for the second procedure.

The sum of both items equals the maximum total amount of 1,600,000.00 euros destined to finance these grants.

Limits per applicant and cache percentages

The same section establishes the maximum conditions for each annual grant, applicable to both procedures:

• Maximum amount of 80,000 euros per applicant.
• A maximum of 12 performances.
• Coverage of 70% of the cache for Extremaduran companies.
• Coverage of 50% of the cache for non-Extremaduran companies.

Financing and signature of the summary

The grants will be financed from the budgetary application 150020000 G/273A/46000/20001143/CAG0000001 of the general budgets of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura for 2026. The document is dated Mérida, September 15, 2026, and is signed by the Secretary General, Isabel Gutiérrez de la Barreda Mena.

Redistribution ensures that funds unused in the first procedure are not lost and are redirected to the second track of the call, which directly affects the companies and performing arts spaces applying for these grants. For the programmers of the Extremadura Theater Network, the change means having a larger economic margin in the second procedure before the close of the 2026 financial year.
