Extremadura publishes four environmental authorizations for pig farms
Por FactBox Admin

The Official Gazette of Extremadura publishes in its issue 166, dated August 27, 2026, four resolutions from the General Directorate of Sustainable Management and Forestry Policy providing public notice of respective unified environmental authorizations (AAU) for pig farming projects in the province of Badajoz. The resolutions, signed on August 18, 2026, in Mérida, fulfill the dissemination obligation imposed by regional environmental regulations.
Legal Framework
The public notice is based on Article 16.10 of Law 16/2015, of April 23, on environmental protection of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura, which requires the environmental body to publish the resolution granting, denying, or modifying the unified environmental authorization in the Official Gazette of Extremadura, without prejudice to other additional dissemination systems. The issuing body depends on the Ministry of Industry, Energy, Science, and Territory.
The Four Authorizations
The authorizations correspond to pig farms promoted by private individuals in four municipalities of the province of Badajoz:
- Navalvillar de Pela, promoter Rubén Puerto Lozano (resolution of August 7, 2026; reference 2026062186).
- Berlanga, promoter José Luis Silva Barragán (resolution of August 7, 2026; reference 2026062187).
- Alburquerque, promoter Amara Maya Membrives (resolution of August 7, 2026; reference 2026062188).
- Feria, promoter José Manuel Montero Tejada (resolution of August 17, 2026; reference 2026062189).

Relevance
The publication of these four authorizations reflects the pig farming activity in the region and the environmental control exercised by the regional administration over this type of facility, which has a significant impact on the territory and natural resources. Dissemination in the official bulletin guarantees transparency and public knowledge of the authorized projects in Extremadura.
