Extremadura publishes 87 direct grants for tourism companies in fire-affected areas

The Regional Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Regional Government of Extremadura has publicized the direct grants awarded for the 2025 fiscal year to compensate for losses suffered by tourism sector companies located in municipal areas affected by the major forest fires of the summer of 2025. The announcement, signed on September 15, 2026, in Mérida by the Director General of Tourism, Óscar Mateos Prieto, is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (Diario Oficial de Extremadura) no. 184, dated September 23, 2026, under official reference 2026081552. In total, 87 grants are listed for a combined amount of 157,700 euros.

The framework for these grants is Decree-law 5/2025, of September 18, on extraordinary aid and other urgent measures for the recovery of areas affected by the forest fires that occurred in Extremadura during the summer of 2025 and on forest fire prevention matters, published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura no. 183, dated September 23, 2025. Chapter VI regulates a program of grants under a direct award regime without a call for applications, specifically intended to compensate for the losses of tourism companies in the affected municipalities.

The authority to grant these awards corresponds to the General Secretariat of the Regional Ministry in accordance with Article 9.1 of Law 6/2011, of March 23, on Grants of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura, and Article 44 of the aforementioned decree-law. However, by Resolution of May 15, 2026, of the General Secretariat (DOE no. 95, of May 20), this authority is delegated to the heads of the management bodies, and Article 28.4 of Decree 18/2026, of April 30, assigns the exercise of this power to the Directorate General of Tourism. Article 46 of Decree-law 5/2025 and Article 17.1 of Law 6/2011 require the publication of the beneficiary, the amount granted, and the purpose.

Amounts and Financing

The 87 published grants are charged to a single budget application: 150060000 G/342A/47000, with expenditure project PEP 20250508 and fund CAG0000001. Individual amounts range between 1,200 and 2,700 euros, with an average of around 1,800 euros per beneficiary.

• Samebar, S.L.: 2,500 and 2,600 euros.
• Campamentos Valle del Ambroz, S.L.: 1,200 and 2,400 euros.
• Aldea Vetonia, S.L., Actuariex Consulting, S.L.U. and Activos Miscelanea, S.L.: 2,400 euros each.
• Sésamo ESPJ: 2,200 and 1,700 euros.
• Hostal Asturias, S.L.: 1,800 and 2,000 euros.
• Local Project, S.L.: 2,000 and 1,700 euros.

Processing and Publicity

The announcement was signed in Mérida on September 15, 2026, by delegation of the General Secretariat and replaces the notification to the interested parties, producing the same effects from its publication. In addition to the Official Gazette of Extremadura, the grants are disseminated on the Grants Portal of the Autonomous Community, under the terms required by the Extremaduran grant regulations.

The published detail allows each beneficiary and third parties to know the budgetary application, the purpose, and the amount granted, guaranteeing the transparency of the extraordinary program articulated after the fires of the summer of 2025.

For the hospitality sector, accommodations, and campsites in the affected areas, this publication confirms the effective closure of a direct compensation line, without prior call, which has already been paid and can be consulted in full in the official bulletin.
