Extremadura appoints the commission that will assess university Erasmus+ grants

The Regional Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of the Junta de Extremadura has made public the composition of the Evaluation Commission responsible for assessing the Erasmus+ grant applications for university students in the community during the 2026/2027 academic year. The body, chaired by the Director General for Universities, will be responsible for deciding which students receive the mobility grants to carry out studies or internships abroad. The appointment is published via the Resolution of August 12, 2026, recorded in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) No. 160, of August 19, 2026 (reference 2026062150).

Regulatory Framework

The commission is constituted in accordance with the provisions of the twelfth section of the Resolution of April 16, 2026 (DOE No. 86, of May 7), which announces the grants for university students of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura selected to carry out studies or internships within the framework of the Erasmus+ Mobility Program for the 2026/2027 course. The resolution was signed by the regional minister, Sandra Victoria Valencia Ramos, in Mérida on August 12, 2026.

Composition of the Body

The commission is composed of a president, three members, and a secretary, with representation from both the regional educational administration and the University of Extremadura:

• President: Ms. Esther Amalia Muñoz Baquero, Director General for Universities of the Regional Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.
• Member: Ms. Rocío Blas Morato, Vice-Rector for Students, Employment, and Mobility of the University of Extremadura.
• Member: Mr. Javier Parejo Bueno, Head of the University and Entrepreneurship Service of the Directorate General for Universities.
• Member: Ms. Inés María Gallardo Caballero, Director of the Secretariat of International Relations of the University of Extremadura.
• Secretary: Ms. Soledad Lucas Álvarez, Head of the Scholarships and Grants Section of the Directorate General for Universities, who will also act as secretary.

Relevance of the Call

The establishment of this evaluation body is an essential preliminary step for the resolution of the mobility grants for the next academic year. The commission must examine the applications submitted by Extremaduran university students and issue the proposal for the awarding of Erasmus+ grants, both for study stays and internships in institutions and companies in other European countries.

The mixed composition, with the presence of representatives from the regional administration and the University of Extremadura, guarantees coordination between both institutions in the management of a program that each year allows hundreds of Extremaduran students to complete their training abroad. The publication of the body’s composition reinforces the transparency of the process by publicly disclosing who will be responsible for assessing and deciding the distribution of mobility grants for the 2026/2027 academic year.
