The General Directorate of the Extremaduran Public Entity for Complementary Educational Services has resolved the second release of funds for the provision of textbooks and school and teaching materials in Extremaduran public centers, for a total of 568,748.00 euros, for the 2026/2027 academic year. The decision is formalized in the Resolution of October 29, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) no. 214, of November 6, 2026, with official reference 2026062801, and signed by the general director, Gonzalo Blanco Gallego.
Distribution between school materials and textbooks
The approved amount is divided into two items, both charged to managing center 130090000, budgetary application G/222G/22900, and fund CAG0000001:
- School and teaching materials: 224,720.00 euros, charged to the 2026 financial year.
- Textbooks: 344,028.00 euros, of which 212,887.19 euros correspond to the 2026 financial year and 131,140.81 euros to the 2027 financial year.
The annexes of the resolution reproduce the detail by province, locality, center, and CIF. Annex I closes the school materials with a total sum of 224,720.00 euros and Annex II does the same for textbooks, up to 344,028.00 euros. The resolution specifies that this is a “second act of release” within the same procedure.
Education levels and beneficiary centers
The funds reach public centers that provide the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education, Basic Vocational Training, and Special Education. The list covers grouped rural schools, early childhood and primary schools, secondary institutes, and compulsory secondary education institutes throughout the community. Among those listed are, for example:
- C.E.I.P. Ntra. Sra. de la Jara, in Acedera (Badajoz), with 100.00 euros for school materials.
- C.E.I.P. Santiago Ramón y Cajal, in Ahillones, with 400.00 euros.
- I.E.S. Maestro Domingo Cáceres, in Badajoz, with 3,360.00 euros in textbooks.
- I.E.S.O. Cáparra, in Zarza de Granadilla, with 2,560.00 euros.
- C.E.I.P. Batalla de Pavía, in Torrejoncillo, with 520.00 euros.
Background and processing
The release is supported by the Order of June 4, 2026, published in the DOE no. 110, of June 10, 2026, which regulates these provisions for the 2026/2027 academic year. The same regulation supported the first release, approved by Resolution of September 2, 2026 (DOE no. 175, of September 10, 2026, reference 2026062275), which mobilized 5,562,392.81 euros: 799,093.00 euros for school materials and 4,763,299.81 euros for textbooks.
In parallel, private subsidized centers have their own line of aid, resolved by the Resolution of September 11, 2026 (DOE no. 182, of September 21, 2026, reference 2026062352) for 1,244,024.62 euros.
The complete lists of granted aid are displayed on the notice boards of the Provincial Delegations of Education and can be consulted on the educational platform Educarex (www.educarex.es). Against the resolution, which is final in administrative proceedings, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the Minister of Education and Vocational Training within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Mérida within two months.
Calendar and economic effects
The payment combines two annualities: part of the amount is executed against 2026 and 131,140.81 euros remain allocated to 2027, which anticipates a budgetary commitment for the next financial year. The payment arrives at a key moment of the school year, when families and centers have already faced the purchase of textbooks and teaching materials.
The publication of this second payment closes the ordinary allocation of books and materials for the public network in the 2026/2027 school year and transfers the effective availability of funds to schools and institutes, which are distributed individually according to the needs collected in the annexes.
