Extremadura libra 5,56 millones para libros y material escolar

The Extremaduran Public Entity for Complementary Educational Services has resolved the first release of funds to provide textbooks and school and didactic materials to public centers in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura, for a total of 5,562,392.81 euros, for the 2026/2027 school year. The decision, adopted by resolution dated September 2, 2026, by its General Directorate, is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura number 175, dated September 10, 2026, with official reference 2026062275.

The measure is issued in accordance with the Order of June 4, 2026, which regulates the release of funds for the provision of textbooks and school and didactic materials to public centers providing education for the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education, Basic Vocational Training, and Special Education (DOE no. 110, of June 10, 2026). The amount is distributed among the centers of the two Extremaduran provinces according to annexes I and II of the resolution.

Distribution of funds

The release is broken down into two main items, charged to the 2026 fiscal year with managing center 130090000 and budget application G/222G/22900:

  • School and didactic material (Early Childhood Education): €799,093.00, charged to fund CAG0000001.
  • Textbooks: €4,763,299.81, of which:
    • €1,994,246.00 charged to fund TE22001001.
    • €2,769,053.81 charged to fund CAG0000001.

Recipients and scope

The funds are distributed among the public centers of Extremadura that provide the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education, Basic Vocational Training, and Special Education. Annex I details the amounts per center for school materials, with amounts ranging from 5 euros to 9,100 euros, and annex II contains the corresponding distribution for textbooks.

Signature and appeals

The resolution is signed by the Director General of the Extremaduran Public Entity for Complementary Educational Services, Gonzalo Blanco Gallego, by virtue of the delegation from the President of the entity dated May 12, 2026 (DOE no. 92, of May 15). Against the resolution, which is final in administrative proceedings, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the Counselor of Education and Vocational Training within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Mérida within two months.

This first release represents a direct boost to thousands of Extremaduran families, who will have the costs of textbooks and school materials for their children covered in the region’s public centers during the 2026/2027 school year, in a context of the start of the school year where the gratuity of these resources relieves the economic burden on households.
