Extremadura opens applications for admission to modular Vocational Training offers

The General Directorate of Vocational Training of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training has published the Resolution of August 17, 2026, which announces the admission and enrollment procedure for the completion of professional modules included in Vocational Training degrees of Grades C, D, and E under the modular offer modality, in its face-to-face, blended, and virtual variants, as well as Basic Grade in the modality aimed at students with special educational needs, in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura for the 2026/2027 academic year. The regulation, signed in Mérida on August 17, is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura number 164, of August 25, 2026, with reference 2026062171.

Regulatory Framework and Background

The call is part of the new Vocational Training System articulated by Organic Law 3/2022, of March 31, on the organization and integration of Vocational Training, and developed by Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which regulates the modular offer modality in its article 28. At the regional level, the procedure complies with the Order of May 9, 2024, which regulates admission and enrollment for Grade D and E in face-to-face, blended, and virtual modalities (DOE no. 93, of May 15, 2024).

The modular offer is aimed at the vacant places remaining after the general admission process announced by the resolutions of May, June, and July 2026, and is organized into two modalities:

• Ordinary modular offer: modules and areas of Grades C, D, and E with vacant places after the general process, in face-to-face, blended, and virtual formats.
• Specific modular offer: modules proposed by the centers themselves, resulting from training and collaboration agreements or to complete a Degree.

Target Audience and Requirements

Persons over eighteen years of age may access these teachings, as well as those who have passed a competency accreditation procedure based on work experience, have passed modules pending to complete a cycle, or possess a professional certificate or a Technician or Higher Technician degree that can be complemented. Exceptionally, those over sixteen years of age who have entered the labor market or have accredited circumstances that prevent attendance under the ordinary regime are admitted, such as pregnancy, victims of violence or harassment, or situations of dependency.

Regarding the teaching load, those who meet the access requirements for the degree may request up to 1,000 hours for the academic year, including the Intermodular Project module; those who do not meet them, up to 500 hours of modules associated with competency standards, without the possibility of taking the Intermodular Project.

Calendar of Actions

The calendar is established in the annexes of the resolution according to the modality:

• Ordinary modular offer (Basic, Intermediate, and Higher Degrees): submission of applications from October 13 to 16, 2026; provisional list on October 20; appeals on the 21st and 22nd; final list on the 23rd; enrollment from October 26 to 30; extraordinary period from November 3 to 6.
• Virtual modality (Intermediate and Higher Degrees): submission of applications from September 1 to 18, 2026; final allocation on October 7; online enrollment from October 7 to 14; extraordinary applications from October 19 to 22.

Applications may be submitted in person at the educational center, at the Citizen Assistance Offices, or electronically through the General Electronic Registry of the Junta de Extremadura and the Rayuela educational platform. In the event of a tie in the allocation, the order of priority derived from the 2026 public draw will be applied, which set the letter “Ñ” for the first surname.

The call opens a second opportunity for access to Vocational Training for thousands of students and adults in Extremadura, allowing them to take individual modules, complete cycles, or specialize without the need to enroll in the full offer. Its modular and flexible nature, in line with the new VT system, facilitates the balance between professional and personal life, and reinforces employability in a context of growing demand for professional qualifications.
