Extremadura grants the 2025/2026 Extraordinary Baccalaureate Awards to eight students

The Regional Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of the Junta de Extremadura has awarded the Extraordinary Baccalaureate Prizes for the 2025/2026 academic year to eight students from the region, with a grant of 900 euros each and a total amount of 7,200 euros. The decision is formalized in the Resolution of September 15, 2026, from the General Secretariat of Education, published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (Diario Oficial de Extremadura) no. 183, dated September 22, 2026 (official reference 2026062367).

The award is issued in accordance with the Resolution of May 15, 2026, from the General Secretariat of Education, which called for these prizes for the 2025/2026 course (DOE no. 98, dated May 25), and responds to the proposal of the Educational Coordination Service based on the selection made by the Evaluation Commission. This administrative act does not exhaust the administrative route.

The eight winners and their centers

The annex of the resolution identifies the winners, all with an identical allocation of 900 euros:

• Antonio Monge Álvarez de Toledo, from Col. María Auxiliadora (Mérida).
• Hugo Conejero Álvarez, from IES Pérez Comendador (Plasencia).
• Daniel García Carretero, from IES Al-Qázeres (Cáceres).
• Javier Parra García-Miguel, from IES Valle del Jerte (Plasencia).
• Hugo Castilla Cancho, from IES Norba Caesarina (Cáceres).
• Marcos Izquierdo Abril, from IES Enrique Díez-Canedo (Puebla de la Calzada).
• Marina De Isusi Ruifernández, from IES Jaranda (Jarandilla de la Vera).
• Irene Molina González, from IES Cuatro Caminos (Don Benito).

The eight winning centers are distributed among four towns in the province of Cáceres—Cáceres, Plasencia, Jarandilla de la Vera, and Puebla de la Calzada—and two in the province of Badajoz: Mérida and Don Benito. The resolution protects the identity of the students, whose NIFs (tax identification numbers) appear partially hidden in the annex.

Financing charged to the 2026 budgets

The payment of the 7,200 euros will be made charged to managing body 130020000, budget application G/222G/48000, fund CAG0000001, and project 20030084, of the General Budgets of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura for 2026, approved by Law 2/2026, of August 3.

The resolution was signed in Mérida on September 15, 2026, by the General Secretary of Education, José Pedro Catalán Durán, acting by delegation according to the Resolution of May 13, 2026 (DOE no. 92, dated May 15).

One-month deadline to appeal

An administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed against this resolution, which does not exhaust the administrative route, before the granting body or before the Minister of Education and Vocational Training, who is competent to resolve it, within one month starting from the day following its publication in the DOE, in accordance with articles 121 and 122 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations. Any other appeal that the interested party deems appropriate remains reserved.

The recognition has a dual effect: it rewards the outstanding academic performance of eight Baccalaureate students and showcases the work of their institutes and schools, whose efforts in a completed course are thus endorsed. For families, the official publication also establishes the calendar and the procedure for any claim regarding the award.
