Extremadura grants 2.4 million in self-employment grants to 394 people

The Official Gazette of Extremadura publishes this Thursday, September 24, 2026, three resolutions from the General Secretariat for Employment granting a total of 2,395,000 euros in self-employment grants to 394 beneficiaries. The aid is distributed between the calls of Decree 39/2024, of April 30, and Decree 182/2025, of December 16, and appears in DOE no. 185 with references 2026062375, 2026062376, and 2026062377.

The three resolutions are issued by the Extremadura Public Employment Service (SEXPE), a body dependent on the Department of Economy, Employment and Digital Transformation of the Regional Government of Extremadura. The authority to resolve corresponds to the General Management of SEXPE and is exercised through the holder of the General Secretariat for Employment, in accordance with Decree 18/2026, of April 30, modified by Decree 89/2026, of May 12, and Decree 108/2026, of May 26.

The declared objective of these grants is to promote job creation through aid for the establishment of unemployed persons as self-employed workers. The resolutions include as an annex the nominal list of beneficiaries, stating the amount assigned to each, available on the SEXPE electronic office.

Three resolutions and 394 beneficiaries

• Resolution of August 27, 2026 (2026062375): 1,117,000 euros for 135 beneficiaries, under Programs I and V of Decree 39/2024.
• Resolution of August 28, 2026 (2026062376): 893,000 euros for 105 beneficiaries, also under Programs I and V of Decree 39/2024.
• Resolution of September 4, 2026 (2026062377): 385,000 euros for 154 beneficiaries, under Line I “Promotion of self-employment (3+1)” of Decree 182/2025.

The first two are signed by the General Secretary for Employment, María José Nevado del Campo, and the third by the Director General for Employment Promotion, Pedro Galán Berrocal.

Requirements and commitments of the beneficiaries

Applicants had to be eighteen years of age, maintain the status of unemployed persons registered in a public employment service and without effective occupation, carry out their economic activity in Extremadura, and be up to date with the obligations of Law 6/2011, of March 23, on Grants of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura. It has been certified that these are not agricultural, livestock, or forestry activities and that the exclusions provided for in the regulating decrees do not apply.

Among the obligations imposed on those receiving the aid are:

• Remain continuously registered with the RETA (Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers) or an alternative mutual society for at least two years from the date of registration, in the case of Decree 39/2024.
• Maintain registration for an additional period of twelve months after completing three years of activity, under Line I of Decree 182/2025.
• Maintain for two years the status of a municipality with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants or the status of generational replacement when the grant was awarded under those circumstances, with amounts of 1,000 and 1,500 euros respectively.
• Submit to verification and control actions and report any other aid received for the same purpose.

European and State Financing

The grants from Decree 39/2024 are co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) for the 2021-2027 framework, with a percentage of 85%. The resolution of August 27 falls under priority P1 “Employment, adaptability, entrepreneurship and social economy,” while that of August 28 is assigned to priority P5 “Youth Employment.” The grants from Decree 182/2025 are financed by State transfers through the Extremadura Employment Plan 2025.

All aid is subject to the de minimis regime of Regulation (EU) 2023/2831 of December 13, 2023. Against the resolutions, which do not exhaust administrative remedies, an administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed before the head of the Ministry of Economy, Employment and Digital Transformation within one month from the day following their publication.

The impact of these three resolutions is direct for the Extremaduran entrepreneurial fabric: nearly 2.4 million euros reach 394 self-employed workers who are starting or consolidating their activity, with the commitment to remain registered for periods of two to four years. The publication of the annexes also allows for an individualized consultation of which persons and amounts have been beneficiaries of each call.
