Extremadura extends teacher training grants until November 5
Por FactBox Admin

The Official Gazette of Extremadura publishes this Tuesday, November 3, the Resolution of October 27, 2026, from the General Directorate of Innovation and Educational Inclusion, which extends until November 5, 2026, the deadline for submitting applications for grants for participation in teacher training activities. The decision was made because Decree 171/2026, of October 6, did not reach the bulletin until October 27, which left the original deadline—set for October 31—at barely four days. The resolution is processed under the official reference 2026062749.
The delay that forced the extension of the deadline
Decree 171/2026, of October 6, approved by the Governing Council at the proposal of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, establishes the regulatory bases for these grants and approves the 2026 call. It was published in DOE no. 207, of October 27, 2026, twenty-one days after its approval.
According to the resolution’s background, technical incidents in the accounting procedure for the credits financing the grants prevented the regulation from being published sooner. Article 9 of the decree requires that the application period be no less than six business days, a condition that was impossible to meet with a closing date set for October 31, barely four days after publication.
Given this situation, the Service for Innovation, Teacher Training, and Entrepreneurship issued a proposed extension agreement on October 27, requesting to extend the deadline until November 5. The resolution was issued that same day, before the expiration, and is supported by Article 32 of Law 39/2015, which allows for the extension of deadlines up to half of their duration when circumstances advise it and the rights of third parties are not prejudiced. No appeal may be filed against the extension agreement.
Amounts and eligible activities
The call has a total allocation of 81,163.00 euros, charged to the budgetary application G/221B/48000, project 20060089, of the 2026 regional budgets. The maximum amounts per applicant are:
- Up to 800 euros for undergraduate and postgraduate university studies at public universities or at the UNED.
- Up to 400 euros for Vocational Training qualifications and special regime teachings in languages and professional degrees in music and dance.
- Up to 300 euros for courses, congresses, conferences, workshops, meetings, or seminars from public institutions with a minimum duration of ten hours.
The decree opts for a pro-rata system: if the requests exceed the available credit, the individual amounts are calculated proportionally, so that all applicants who meet the requirements receive some aid without the need for tie-breaking criteria.
Who can apply and how it is resolved
The following may apply for the grants, provided they are in active service:
- Teaching staff assigned to centers supported by public funds in Extremadura at levels prior to University.
- Teaching staff from Educational and Psychopedagogical Guidance Teams, Teacher and Resource Centers, and services dependent on the regional ministry.
Each applicant may only opt for one of the grants and must prove the completion of the training activity, carried out between September 1 of the previous year and August 31 of the year of the call. A minimum score of 5 points is required, and submission is exclusively electronic.
The resolution of the procedure corresponds to the General Secretariat of the ministry, with a maximum period of three months from the publication of the call and negative administrative silence. It is signed by the head of the General Directorate of Innovation and Educational Inclusion, Carmen María Gómez Labrador, by delegation of the Resolution of May 13, 2026, of the General Secretariat.
Additionally, on November 3, the modification of the summary of the call (2026062796, BDNS 937487) was published, which updates the fifth section and sets the deadline for conclusion on November 5. The original summary had been disseminated in the DOE no. 207, of October 27, 2026.
The extension provides breathing room for teachers who, under the previous calendar, would have had less than a week to gather enrollments, completion certificates, and banking documentation. The margin remains narrow: those wishing to access the 81,163 euros must formalize their application before the closing on Wednesday, November 5.
