Local DTT concession extinguished in the Estepona demarcation
Por FactBox Admin

The Governing Council of the Regional Government of Andalusia has agreed to declare the extinction of the concession for the provision of the local public audiovisual television communication service in the demarcation of Estepona (ref. TL03MA). The decision, adopted by agreement on August 31, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Regional Government of Andalusia (BOJA) number 171, dated September 3, 2026, within the other provisions section.
The extinguished concession was granted to the public management entity «TDT Estepona, Manilva, Casares y Benahavís, S.L.», which operated the local digital terrestrial television service in the Costa del Sol Occidental region. The agreement appears in the gazette under text number 11431 and spans two pages.
Territorial scope of the concession
The demarcation affected by the extinction covers four municipalities in the province of Málaga, which are left without the local DTT operator that provided the service:
- Estepona, the head of the demarcation.
- Manilva.
- Casares.
- Benahavís.
The official reference for the demarcation is TL03MA, the identifier with which the regional administration registers this local television concession.
Regulatory framework and issuing body
The extinction is processed as an agreement of the Governing Council, the highest collegiate body of the Andalusian administration, within the framework of its competencies regarding the organization of local audiovisual communication services. The agreement is listed in the other provisions section of the gazette, under the Ministry of the Presidency, Health, and Emergencies.
The document was deliberated and approved at the Governing Council meeting held on August 31, 2026, and its publication in the BOJA provides official notice of the extinction of the concession.
Impact on the region’s audiovisual offering
The extinction of the concession entails the withdrawal of the local television operator in the Estepona demarcation, which modifies the audiovisual offering of the region. Residents of the four affected municipalities lose the local DTT channel provided by the concessionary company, a proximity service oriented toward regional information and content.
The decision is part of the management that the regional administration carries out regarding local digital terrestrial television concessions, whose provision and extinction regime is governed by the audiovisual communication regulations applicable in Andalusia.
