Esteban Andión Hermida, new general deputy director of European Funds

The Department of Finance and Public Administration of the Xunta de Galicia has resolved to award Esteban Andión Hermida the position of Deputy General Director of Programming, Monitoring, and Evaluation of European Funds, through the system of free appointment. The decision was formalized in the Order of September 7, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia number 175, of September 15, 2026 (p. 48838), and signed by the counselor Miguel Corgos López-Prado.

The position, with level 30 and code FC.C04.00.001.15770.001, is assigned to the General Directorate of Cohesion and European Funds, based in Santiago de Compostela. The public call had been previously announced by the Order of July 1, 2026 (DOG no. 128, of July 10).

Profile of the appointee

Esteban Andión Hermida belongs to the superior body of the general Administration of the Autonomous Community of Galicia, in the superior scale of statisticians, subgroup A1. His personnel registration number is **** 026013 A2083.

The resolution is based on article 92 of Law 2/2015, of April 29, on public employment in Galicia, and articles 5 to 8 and 25 to 28 of Decree 151/2022, of August 4, which approves the Regulation of mobility procedures for career civil servants.

Deadlines for cessation and taking office

The designated person must cease in their current destination within three days from the publication of the order, or from the communication of the transfer resolution in the case of personnel from other administrations. The taking of office in the new destination must be carried out:

• Within three days following the cessation, if it does not imply a change of residence.
• Within seven days, if it involves a change of residence.
• Within one month, when the taking of office entails reentry into active service.

The calculation of the deadlines will begin when the licenses or permits granted to the designated person end and, in the case of temporary disability, from the date of discharge.

The Deputy General Directorate of Programming, Monitoring, and Evaluation of European Funds is a key piece in the management of community funds in Galicia, responsible for the programming, monitoring, and evaluation of programs financed by the European Union. Its award by free appointment reflects the Xunta’s commitment to technical profiles specialized in a strategic area for the financing of regional development projects.

Against the order, which exhausts the administrative route, interested parties may file an optional appeal for reversal before the counselor of Finance and Public Administration within one month, or challenge it directly before the competent contentious-administrative court within two months.
