Estépar aprueba el proyecto de un silo de cine por 252.978 euros

The Plenary Session of the Estépar City Council, in an extraordinary session held on August 27, 2026, initially approved the project “Estépar, a cinema silo,” a cultural action that will transform a municipal silo into a cinematographic facility. The decision is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Burgos, number 172, dated September 10, 2026, with the official reference BOPBUR-2026-03752.

The base tender budget for the project amounts to 252,978.71 euros, VAT included, and the technical document was drafted by the architect Mr. Leonardo Ignacio González Ferreras, member number 1,060 of the Official College of Architects of Castilla y León, dated August 2026.

The initial approval is processed in accordance with local government and public sector procurement regulations. The announcement expressly invokes:

  • Article 93 of Royal Legislative Decree 781/1986, of April 18, the revised text of legal provisions currently in force regarding local government.
  • Law 9/2017, of November 8, on Public Sector Contracts.
  • Article 83 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

By virtue of this framework, the technical document is subject to public exhibition for a period of twenty calendar days from the insertion of the announcement in the gazette, during which any interested party may submit allegations and claims.

Project consultation and final approval

The project will be available for consultation at the electronic headquarters of the Estépar City Council, through the municipal transparency portal (https://estepar.es). Once the exhibition period has elapsed without any claims or allegations being presented, the technical document shall be understood as definitively approved.

The announcement was signed in Estépar on August 31, 2026, by the mayor, Jaime Martínez González.

A cultural investment with local impact

With a budget exceeding a quarter of a million euros, the project “Estépar, a cinema silo” is presented as a significant cultural commitment for the municipality and its surroundings, by repurposing a traditional agricultural infrastructure as a space dedicated to cinema. The initiative combines the enhancement of local heritage with the creation of a new leisure and culture facility, and its processing now opens the door to citizen participation before the final tendering of the works.
